I just read that the interactive pins are PLASTIC! Is this true?
I probably won't buy them if this is true.
Has anyone seen the free pin(s) you get for buying these pins and collecting the virtual pins on the Disney page? That MIGHT change my mind.

The interactive pins are plastic but they are a lot of fun. You really can't compare them to the other pins, they are just something different. I got one while I was there last week and as the week went on, there were more and more places where they worked. The parades would set them off and they would go off in various rides. They also do different things according to where you are.

Activated in two places in TOT
Activated about 5 times during Fantasmic!
Activated in two places in GMR
Activated two or three time on SE and outside it.
Activated at HM and POC
Activated at all the new parades.

They are really a lot of fun to see in action. Just don't think of them as a normal pin.

As for the pins that you can get when you purchase them, this didn't start until Oct. 1 and I left on the 30th. I'd be interested as well in seeing what these look like.

Yes, it is true, they are plastic. and very large. And they are not thin either, they are about 1/2 inch wide.
Big, Bulky, Ugly (in my opinion) and should not be classified as pins. They are BUTTONS.
I probably won't buy any either.
But I do love the photo pins. I can't wait to get one with my father and sister when I go in November for her Suprise birthday party.
The Three Caballeros........and Dom had one taken and Dom promised to post it someday. I don't like the photo of me, but they all look good. Peggie
