Is this true - Living Seas Ride portion now closed or closing?

I just read on another Disney board that the ride portion of Living Seas is closed down, or will be closed down soon. The rumor is that you now go directly from the movie to Sea Base.

Can someone confirm this?

If true, is the ride being refurbished, or is it another cut-back?

We went into Living Seas last Friday. Saw the movie, rode the ride into the seabase. Before the film began, we were given an option to go directly to the seabase though. Don't know of future plans though.

If anything should be cut at The Living Seas, it should be that snore-fest of a movie before the Hydrolators, but not the ride itself. But hey then they couldn't cut the 2-4 ride attendants, as well as the people who do the maintenance of the ride itself. I'm sure the gift shop and the poor couple of employees that work there will be the next to go. Hey maybe they could sell back some of the dolphins to Sea World to make some quick cash. As for the restaurant they could have 8 managers, 1 waiter, 1 waitress, and 1 cook/prep/dishwasher(all the same person). Ooops almost forgot about the hours, 11am - 12pm and 4pm - 5 pm Mon.- Thurs. closed Fri/Sat./Sun.
Now that's bound to make them some serious smackaroonies.

I love the Living Seas shop. I just bought a stuffed manatee there in fact. I thought that Disney made it a practice to never close shops anyway.

Sarcasm from me?? never.

That's my point, you love the shop(and that's a good thing), all the more reason to get rid of it in management's eyes. People like the shop but it's not making the money for us that the Mouse Gear shop is, so close it immediately.
