Is this true about POFQ?

We read on one website (can't remember where now) that along with the ferry/boat to DTD, they also have a boat that goes to the Boardwalk. Is this true?

We were ready to book at CSR last night and then we started reading a ton of negative reviews (athough there were some really good ones too). DH was not thrilled with the decor even though I loved it, so we started looking at other options. We stumbled on almost perfect reviews for POFQ. Now we're planning to book there today.

None of the Disney sites mention anything about a boat to the Boardwalk and it seems a little far but we just wanted to double check.

No that is not true. There is no body of water that connects them. The Boardwalk is on Crescent Lake, as well as Epcot WS, DHS, Swan, Dolphin, Yacht Club & Beach Club.

I love POFQ, though.

Thank you. That's what we thought but we both read it on that site and wanted to double check.

We overlooked the POFQ before and only considered POR and CSR, but after reading amazing reviews, we decided it will be the place for us. We wanted something smaller and more relaxing. It looks beautiful too.

We love POFQ. We will be there in December to celebrate our anniversary. It's a beautiful resort. The rooms are comfortable with the queen size beds and we enjoy going to the lounge to see Elliott.

Thanks. We were hoping to book there this morning but they are ALL booked up for the week we want (Nov 14-20), so we went with the Riverside instead. We are getting a Royal Room with a garden view.

However, if they have any openings, we might consider switching to the POFQ. They just didn't have connecting rooms available, which is what we need with 4 kids.

Did you book two royal rooms?

You can't book connecting rooms. You would have to book 2 rooms and make a request that they connect. Note, this is only a request and is not guaranteed... even if they tell you it is!

Actually yes you can book connecting rooms, when there are only two adults and children. If you have more than two adults things change.

When you book connecting rooms as a family, it says right on the actual reservation that you receive in the mail that they are guaranteed. They list all people staying in the two rooms onto one reservation, listing it as one reservation with two guaranteed connecting rooms.

It is booked completely different then if you request connecting rooms for non-family reasons and the reservation comes out completely different. It usually takes much longer for it to be processed as it goes through the system.

Sure, there is a slim chance that for some reason something could go wrong, if they overbook and there are no rooms connecting available. But we have stayed at several different Disney resorts many many times and have always been honored the "guaranteed connecting rooms" that Disney does say they guarantee right on the actual reservation paper.

You've been lucky. Do a search here on the DIS and will find alot of posts where a couple with kids had connecting guaranteed listed on their reservation, but when they arrived WDW had one parent in a room with some of the kids and the other parent in a completely different building with the other kids and said they could not get them connecting rooms. I have a coworker this happened to. They were finally able to get them in the same building, but not in connecting rooms. The CMs told them connecting rooms are never guaranteed unless there is just one parent with alot of kids, regardless of what CRO says when you call to book.

Disney also says that nothing is guaranteed besides a room on property. So no, they are NOT guaranteed. I have been on these boards long enough to have heard story after story after story of "guaranteed" connecting rooms that were NOT available when people checked in. You can not book connecting rooms, it is not an option. You can request them.
