OK, so here is the short version. We are going to WDW for Jan. 1-4. It is our Christmas present from my dad and stepmom for us, our 2 dd's (2 & 5), my stepbrother, and my stepsister, her dh and her kids (dd5 & ds3). We are driving down to their house in Lake Worth, FL on 12/27 and spending a few days there before we all drive to Disney for three nights. My BIL (stepsister's dh) is retired AirForce so we have three rooms at the Contemporary for those nights through Shades of Green (average room cost per night is $95 including taxes). So, the drama is the ongoing marital problems between my stepsister and my BIL. As of this morning, she had said it was over and we were trying to figure out what to do about somewhere to stay (the kids already know we are going, canceling is not a happy option). As of this afternoon, they are giving it another shot. But, who knows. Now, I am very concerned about them and their kids. Divorce is a BIG DEAL and I truly hope they can work out their somewhat major issues. However, I am nervous about the whole trip now and what will happen if BIL doesn't go with us. Arggg! I guess I just needed to vent. I have SO been looking forward to this trip, even though at 6 months pregnant, I won't be doing Mission Space! I know something will work out, but I am a very anal planner and don't like not knowing how it's going to play out.

I wish I knew what to say, but try to stay positive and this will all work out for the best (for everyone with all situations) I am sure!

Hi Ellen! Sorry about all of the stress you are having over the trip right now. I have faith that it will be just fine and you will have a wonderful time!!!

It's a shame they have to make their problems public to upset a pregnant woman, everyone's children and the grandparents who were trying to give everyone a very special family treat.  But, I think stuff like this happens in every family.

I say let them work things out between themselves and whether or not they and/or their family will come on the trip. But, everyone else should go ahead and plan to have a terrific time at WDW. The only real glitch is that I think your BIL will probably have to be there in order to get the SOG discount. You might want to find out the answer to that one since it seems a possibililty that he and/or his entire family might not make the trip.

Well there is nothing you can do about your ILS marital problems. I would just say sit tight, see what happens. I'm sure you will be able to get a room somewhere for that time period at the last minute. Maybe you can even get a great deal on Priceline. It won't be the Contemp, but it will be something. Maybe you can even call and explain to the Contemp your situation. If they are not at capacity you may get a deal. Good luck, congrats on your new baby.
