Is this trip do-able?

So, DH and I have been on the fence about what to do for our 10th anniversary this summer for sometime. We'd like to take the kids back to WDW-- we were thinking free dining in September, but we'd also like to do a nice cruise (just the two of us), which would probably also be in September, since we have a hard time stomaching cruise rates during the summer months. So, I came up with a crazy idea. What if we did a week at WDW (my parents come with us), and then my parents fly back home with the kids and DH and I take a cruise on the Oasis of the Seas as soon as they leave. My mom said she'd be willing to do it, because she's the best like that :thumbsup2! I'm now just trying to think about the logistics of it all. I looked up transport from MCO to the Port Everglades cruise terminal (it's about 3 and half hours), and it looks like there are some very reasonable shuttles (around 30pp), so we'd be able to get to the Oasis cruise terminal OK. We will probably use frequent flyer miles for our air tickets, so DH and I can book a multi-city flight and fly back to Houston from Ft. Lauderdale, rather than going to MCO again. What else am I missing or not thinking of?? How am I going to handle laundry? Is this a really crazy idea or could it work??! --Katie

Congrats on your 10 years together!

The only thing I can really comment on is your laundry question. You could either pack for two weeks, or pack for a week and then do your laundry right after you board the ship.

Thanks :thumbsup2!! Do you know if Oasis has self-serve laundry? --Katie

I googled it, and it turns out that there are no self-service laundry facilities. I'm sorry, I just assumed that they were available.
So maybe do your laundry the evening before your cruise. I know that Disney World has coin-op laundry's.

Thanks for doing the googling for me :)! I'm getting pretty excited about my crazy idea . I think we just may go for it! -Katie
