Is this Too weird???

I am planning to bring my own sheets and covers! I always bring my own pillows, but this time I am thinking of my sheets too! The sheets never seem to fit the beds in the resorts! Then they end up all balled up under me and I get terrible sleep until I am exhausted.

Does anyone else do this? Will housekeeping leave them on the bed??

That seems a little drastic IMO, but to each their own.

I'm sure if you bring sheets that are obviously not Disney's (like patterned or colored ones) they will leave them alone.

While that may sound strange my girlfriend does that too. But she doesn't "change" the sheets she just places it on top of the other ones and then folds it up in the morning so housekeeping doesn't mix it in with theirs. However, it you do take your own I'd make certain that they were patterned or a really bright color and then I would leave a message/note for housekeeping not to take/change them.

Your right thats weird but hey whatever works!!! I would just take them off before leaving and throw them in a dresser draw.

Been in hotels for over 20 years and seen a few folks do this.

One note, there is a good chance that hsk will pull your linens if you are not careful. Not all of them read english, so strongly suggest you just pull your own linen each morning and put with your clothes or such

With the sheer size of their laundry facilities, you stand a good chance of never seeing them again if hsk pulls your linen.

Have not seen folks that have issues that you stated though. Most are tucked in very tight as that is SOP for hotels. The people I have seen with their own linens normally have some allergy or just a a fear of germs.

I always bring my own sheets, blankets and pillows wherever I go. I just put the sheets on top of the ones already on the bed. I dont think its weird.

To me, the thing that would be weird if you DIDN'T bring your sheets. If your sheets help you sleep better so that you wake up refreshed instead of exhausted, then they should be included on your packing list!

Here is what I do: I pack an extra suitcase with sheets, blankets, pillows, bedspreads. A bathmat and some towels for the bathroom. I also pack lysol spray, anti-bacterial wipes, and my hazmat suit.

I always check in a day early so I can get the room ready. I methodically remove all linens from the room, and replace them with my own. This includes remaking the beds and wiping down every surface in the room with wipes.

I certainly don't want to lay on the same bed someone else (who may have cooties) has laid on in the past. I won't touch the telephone, tv clicker, or anything else until I wipe it down (horrors--you could catch ebola or malaria or something!)

Once these preparations are complete, I can begin my vacation. The hazmat suit comes in handy once you leave the room....since I can't pack enough lysol wipes to clean off Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and MGM.

Not so weird. I've never brought my own pillows or bed linens, but after reading here and hearing stories about a year ago about bedbugs in American hotels, I'm thinking I might start bringing my own as well.

I have stayed in alot of hotels. The only time I ever had a problem with sheets was when I couldnt find a room and was forced to stay at less then desirable place. Then the sheets were too small and pulled off. But never at Disney.

Why would you want to lug all that extra stuff on vacation. I assume you must be driving so would have room for extra luggage.

not weird. in fact since we will be driving on our next trip i will have the space to carry things like linens. the sheets fit fine at the BW and Cont for the most part, but the grand flo sheets always come off.

Funny but also sort of obnoxious.

We do wipe off the remote and the phone receiver. Have yet to try to wipe down the theme parks but you never know.....

We always bring pillows and top blankets, dont let the kids use the hotel comforters. Works for us. Dont think that you are wierd for bringing sheets.

Not weird at all! I don't bring sheets, but I do bring my own blanket - I'm used to a down comforter and can't sleep well with anything else. Down packs down easily and I'll gladly sacrifice a couple inches of suitcase space in the name of good sleep!

I've also started bringing my own towels. I have extreme skin allergies and the detergents used by WDW leave me itchy.

Who cares what anyone else thinks - do what will make your trip most comfortable for YOU!

I don't know about bringing my own sheets but I have brought my own pillow because I have a hard time sleeping with anything but my own pillow.
Normally the pillows at hotels are too fluffy or to heavy - I scruch my pillow up when I sleep. I only bring it with me occasionally now because I have left my pillow at hotels 2 times now and let me tell you its a lot better to have a pillow to sleep with at home then having my pillow on vacation!!!

But again to each his own!! I know they don't do anything with your pillow but put it in the middle of the other pillows when they make the bed. We don't stay long enough for housekeeping to do our laundry but if you are I would suggest taking your own sheets off and putting them with your luggage or in a drawer.

How often to they change the sheets at Disney resorts? I know they do between guests, but I'm asking for changes for people staying several days.

I'm sure Disney is kept very clean and their hotels are probably cleaner than most. But....they dont wash the comforters between guests. So...I would rather be WEIRD and bring my own blanket than snuggle with some strangers drool.

I totally agree with you.. but hey thats just my opinion but i though the idea of Disney was to relax not to have to change my own sheets

I think they change the sheets to wash if you stay for more than 4 days. Not sure where I heard that but I could be wrong. Also I don't use the comforter on the bed (especially since we know they don't wash it that often and think of all the butts that have been sitting on that comforter besides all the drool!!!)
