Is this too much MK?

Never too much MK!! :) Our trip was 6 full days, and one day from 9am-3pm, we did
Day 1 MK
Day 2 Epcot (with a stop first thing at MK as per my dd's request then rode the monorail over by 10)
Day 3 HS
Day 4 MK
Day 5 AK
Day 6 MK
Day 7 MK

:)

Definitely not too much MK. 2 of your 3 MK days are part days, so really you only have 2 MK days. When DD was a preschooler we did 2 MK, 2 EPCOT, 1 DHS and 1 AK (usually more like 1/2 because DD didn't like AK and always begged to go back to EPCOT or MK by noon) days. Then we also might have more MK time on arrival or departure days. I think your schedule is good for a shorter trip.

No way!!!! I'm in the parks 8 days this year and I'm going to MK 5 times!

Friday - HS and boat to Epcot for fireworks and snacks
Sat - 1-cl and MK for EMH
Sun - MK 10-4 'Ohana back to MK
Mon - AK and made EMH at HS
Tues - Epcot at rope drop break and MK for BOG at 7 and EMH
Wednesday - MK open to cl
Thursday - HS 12-cl
Friday - MK prepark breakfast and open to cl

My kids are 8, 7, and 2 and we may have an additional 8 year old tagging along! MK is amazing!

I think it's great for a 5 & 3 yo. I have young kids (8, 8, 4 & 3) and they want the majority of time at MK, so we usually spend 2.5-3 days at MK for a 5 day trip. My 4yo got bored at AK and DHS this past trip because of the lack of rides for him.

SKIP EPCOT!!!! Go to DHS for DisJr stuff or more MK!
Couldn't disagree more. We spent one evening at DHS on our last trip - only to see Osborne lights really. The trip before, we probably spent less than 2 hours there. There are only 5 rides, and the food is easily the worst of DisneyWorld's parks.

We tend to split our time between MK and Epcot. With little ones, I would certainly lean toward more time at MK.

Stick with what you got,it looks great. MK and Epcot have plenty of stuff to do to merit 3 days at MK. Hope you have a blast!!

Epcot has even less rides for kids IMO. But to me it's a hard call between DHS and Epcot.

I would definitely go to AK though! I can easily spend all of my Disney time at MK and AK.

We did the same thing last trip - 3 days MK, 1 AK and 1 Epcot, no DHS. Similar ages. It was perfect, absolutely perfect.

Similarly, we did 2 MK, 2 Epcot, 1 DHS, no AK on our last trip. And really, DHS was about a 2/3 day with a hop over to Epcot as this was during Flower & Garden.

I just realized I haven't been to AK in several years.

I agree with the DHS recommendation for young kids. Both kids loved Toy Story Midway Mania and Disney Jr. DD still insists on seeing Voyage of the Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast Live, while DS likes both stunt shows. They also have great street entertainment any now extra Frozen entertainment. If your kids know and love the Playhouse Disney characters, then HS is a must do! My kids will choose HS over EPCOT any day, especially with the additional closing of Innoventions, Maelstrom, and Captain EO.

I never went to WDW as a kid. I don't have any nostalgia for EPCOT. If you have very little kids what does Epcot have that is really on par with the Disney Jr Show, TSMM and Star Tours. Those three knock it out of the park for my kids...add on the Frozen, LM and B&B shows...that's their perfect cup of tea and at least a half day. Sure Test Track and Soarin are good for mid-older kids, but I am talking about same ages as the OP, 3 and 5.

That is only 2.5 days of MK . . . we typically spend 4 days, and on occasion have gone to a Halloween party, or had an extra ticket giving us a 5th day, or part thereof in MK. I don't think you will find 2.5 days to be too much.

I would have to say there are a number of things that little kids would find enjoyable at Epcot. On a recent trip, I watched several families with little children have an enjoyable time playing games on their smartphones while they waited in the short lines for Spaceship Earth and Figment. After a refreshing break at a water fountain, they would often head to one of the many landscaped areas and spend valuable family time together identifying the various plant species. From there, I have no idea what they would do because I was a little nervous that I had followed them around the park and it might have made them uncomfortable.

We are just one family. I don't ask that anyone substitute my judgment for theirs.

That said, Epcot has been my daughter's favorite park since she was 5 or 6. To each their own. :)

I agree. DS is a college student now and he likes Epcot more than I do. He really loved it when he was younger and then didn't care for it much when he was a pre-teen onto fairly recently. You never know what kids might like until you let them try something.

We used to use go to MK every morning just to walk down Mainstreet USA prior to hopping to another park. Are excuse used to be "We need Starbucks". Now that the bucks is everywhere that excuses doesn't work so well. MK is the Disney park. Being a first time for your kids I would spend as much time as you can.

Thanks for all the feedback! Based on your advice, I'm going to keep the MK time the same but switch days around to try and avoid crowds. My kids love rides, but they're used to Busch Gardens Williamsburg, which is a gorgeous park and (at least for us for now) is 60% walking around and enjoying the scenery and shows and 40% rides. I feel like we'll do a lot of that at MK and Epcot, too.

Saturday: arrive MCO 9 a.m., spend the day at MK
Sunday: HS (possibly AK instead)
Monday: Epcot
Tuesday: MK
Wednesday: MK (leave for airport at 4:30 p.m.)

This plan seems a lot better (you'll be surprised at how low the crowds are at MK on Tuesday compared to your other two days). And to answer your original question...no, that's not too much MK with kids your age.
