Trying to figure out arrival day plans for my daughter and I. If everything goes to plan, here would be our schedule. Is this way too much for day 1?

Land at MCO: 8:00am
Hopefully get to the hotel by 9:30 am
Drop off bags and head to Blizzard Beach for 10-1030am
Stay at BB til about 3
Check into hotel /relax for an hour
head over to HS for a few rides and Fantasmic

shes 9. we have to get up around 4am so it will be a long day. we are trying to find a day to fit BB in and it looks like arrival day might be our only option but I don't know if my plan for arrival day is realistic lol

I personally would not find that hour relaxing and would either skip relaxing and just keep going, or call it a day after BB. :)

one thing to think about if you do the park after Blizzard how will you get her to the room from transportation when she crashes on the way back to room

I would wait to see how you feel that day. You may have tons of energy or may want to sleep or tour the resort

It's very possible. I know my family can go a long time on our arrival day due to excitement of being at Disney. We were coming from the central time zone so it was an hour difference. We have a two hour drive to the airport and usually fly out at about 6:30 am and land at MCO around 9:30 am Florida time. The kids will usually sleep awhile in the car and on the plane. We are usually in the Magic Kingdom by noon and stay until closing. Just don't plan an early morning the next day. Sleep in as long as you can to catch up on you rest. You should be good to go after that. Go for it! Cheers!!!!

I think it sounds like an OK plan, as long as it is flexible. Y'all might be wiped out after BB and it might be good to hang out at the resort for the evening. Do you have an early morning planned for day 2? If so, you might want to skip HS so you can get a good night's sleep.

Have a great trip!!

The only thing that wouldn't work for my family is the break at the hotel. For us, it just kills the momentum. We prefer to keep moving into until we're done for the night.

We have very similar plans with a 6am landing on a red-eye from the west coast, except we're looking to do a few hours at Epcot before a break and then evening FPs/Fantasmic at DHS. If it doesn't work out because we're too tired, oh well, we'll skip the DHS portion. But it doesn't make sense to us to not have at least a few plans/FPs in place in case we're in the mood.

My husband and I got up at 3:00 a.m. to catch our flight to MCO for our honeymoon. We got to our resort, swam a little, and headed to MK until midnight. Once we got going, we didn't stop because we knew if we did, we'd crash.

Personally, I would pick either BB or HS, not both. But I think PP are right, and you'll probably have to just play it by ear that day.

We usually plan a lot on our first day also to try to fit things in. When we went we got up early also to get to the airport on our arrival day. We ended up getting in bed around midnight our first day and really didn't wear down. We did not do the water park though. I know the water parks really make a person tired afterward. Then again your at Disney and the adrenal may keep you going!

If I laid down after getting up early I would probably be out for several hours:rotfl:

That's exactly what I was thinking. We'd "relax for an hour" and wake up at 9 pm freaking out. I say either crank it up and keep going or just go back to the resort after BB and hang out for the evening. Where are y'all staying? There are so many things to do at the resort, we ALWAYS end our trips regretting that we didn't spend more time there. You can't go wrong, whatever you decide. :wizard:

Thanks everyone for all the advice! I think I planned out a little too much for day 1 but I might just keep our DHS fast passes for the evening and see what happens.

Sounds like a good plan. I could see my family accomplishing all of this on arrival day. When I saw the title of this thread I was thinking the worst!
