Is this the "normal" price?

Despite saying I was not returning to WDW anytime soon, I lied. I would like to take a quick 2-3 night trip sometime in early April. For reference, our school break is April 7th through the 14th.

I just priced out GF for one adult, 2 nights, April 4th to the 6th, 2 nights. I thought for sure the price quoted was for a Presidential Suite.
For a ROOM (not a suite) in the main building, king room, club level, which sleeps 3 adults according to the website the price is $1,779 per night?

I understand this is a Club Level room, but a King room is going for $1,779 a night?

Yes, that's the 2023 rack rate for a Standard Club Level room at GF for those Spring break weeks on either side of Easter, two of the busiest weeks of the year. The same room would is $500 cheaper per night in mid-Jan., Late-Aug., etc.

If you wanted Theme park view, rack rate for that time is $2200/night.

Perhaps choose a room that isn't club level and would imagine the price will be less. Club level lets you sit on some fancier furniture but you are paying a lot more for the supposedly 'free' food/beverages they provide.

This shows the attraction of renting DVC points. At those prices with a DVC point rental you would probably at least be able to get a 1 Bedroom villa. You need to plan ahead and you don’t get club services, but with the money saved you can stock up your kitchen with lots of drinks and snacks of your choice.

I wasn't looking for Club Level. That was the only option available. I am not paying that price for a hotel room!

April is peak season and right before Easter, I'd doubt there's much of anything left. Take a look at swan/dolphin. Don't think it's likely they'd have a ton of rooms left but worth a shot or try off property. Keep looking as they may have cancellations too and also try playing with your dates. Short trips are usually harder to come by than 4 nights or more. Yeah, I wouldn't pay that for any room on disney property even if it's club level. My family and I can't eat or drink enough to justify that cost.

Oh wow for this year. Yeah, you’re waaaay late in planning something for right before Easter. That’s why GF CL is the only option. Do beware you’ve already missed the 60 day dining reservation window if that matters to you 😬

I agree with PP, try Swolphin. If no availability try for a refundable off-site. Bonnet Creek hotels are pretty close, right near DS. Then if you really want a Disney hotel check every day to see if anything pops up with Disney and grab it fast if you see something.
