I dont know how it is all over, but you do own the street oin front of your property fron curb to middle of street. It goes the same for alleys.

So if a lot of people park in front of your home forever they need to get permission.

Like I said Im not sure how it works everywhere elses.

I've never heard of that(actually owning into the middle of the street), that is different from here. Here the county has a right of way into your yard, (goody we have to mow it, etc), but they have an easement/right-of-way for about 3 feet from the curb.
But yeah, I can see your point if a neighbor ALWAYS parks in front of your house, it's common courtesy NOT to IMO.
The thought that just occurred to me is who maintains the road where you live since the homeowners own it, does your city maintain/repair it, plow the snow etc or are the homeowners themselves responsible for all that?

If this were the case, wouldn't people technically need your permission to drive on the road in front of your property? I did a quick search to try to find out more information about this ownership issue in Kansas but it came back empty.

Aw, it's a shame, but I think teen boys have it rough sometimes. I think that some people, like this guy, are just watching you and waiting for you to make trouble. I can guarantee you that a bunch of little 10 year old girls would be no issue for this guy.

It doesn't sound like you were doing anything wrong. I would go back and hang out there.

It's not like the kids we have playing in our yard (corner lot) and our crazy neighbor's yard (kids aren't his either, his is also a corner lot) that told DH they like to play in our yard because it's a nice field. We have asked them numberous times not to play in our yard and yet there they are. And they are from all over the neighborhood, so we aren't even sure where they live and who are the parents. UGH. They even killed my lemon tree.

Bummer...

We had a beloved tree like that....and then for some reason they decided a number of trees just HAD to be cut down.

Nothing wrong with the tree.
