Is This Stealing?

Technically, maybe it is "stealing", but I don't see it as a big deal. Especially if it's just you and on person. Maybe if you have a party of 4 or 5 sharing one drink, that may be crossing the line. Not to mention a bit gross.

Personally, I gather all the neighborhood kids, we head down to the local buffet, and I give them all one plate to share and I encourage them to fill up that plate multiple times. :goodvibes

Cousin Eddie?

I feel I have to confess, I’m the OP and I am a refillable drink sharer!

This question intrigued me because it honestly never occurred to me that sharing the refillable drinks might be considered dishonest. Until a couple days ago, I’d have had no qualms about sharing a refillable drink in front of a McDonalds manager. And that’s unusual because I have a very sensitive conscience! I think it might have something to do with being the son of a Baptist pastor.

Now I’m thinking about walking into my neighborhood McDonalds and handing over a check for about $500 for past drinks. But they don’t take checks anymore.

I’m pretty friendly with a couple of the managers at my McDonalds and I’m going to ask them how they feel about this. But since my family of six eats there often (not with Morgan Spurlock frequency, but more than we should), I’m afraid they’ll tell me to keep sharing drinks because they won’t want to risk losing a customer so I probably can't get an honest answer from them.

What is "what what"?

Alas, I can not share with my DH, because he makes the most disgusting drinks by mixing half the sodas together.

I'm just curious--what about popcorn at the movies? At our theatre, popcorn is refillable and dd and I always share. Sometimes my mom shares, too. Now, their so called "value snacks" come with two pops and one bag of popcorn--which sort of insinuates that two people will be sharing the popcorn and getting it refilled as needed.

Just thought I'd add a little more fuel to the fire.

WHAT???????????
There are theaters who give out refills on popcorn?????
I feel ripped off!!!

I don't think so, because you purchased the cup. I think of it, as taking a sip from another. And I'm pretty uptight with stealing and stuff!

Two big new movie theatres in town--so we're in sort of a movie theatre refreshment war. Free refills on pop and popcorn and a rewards card where you get free refreshments and/or movie ticket after a certain number of visits. It rocks!

We have a place called Commonwealth 20. They give rewards too. But, the free refills on soda and popcorn are for the large buckets only. I assume they realize people share those things. They are HUGE!

Sharing is not stealing, stealing is stealing. Why not keep your cup and just bring it with you the next time. No one is being the "soda police", question asked and answers and opinions offered. The majority of people would agree that it is stealing.

I would say that the majority would say it is not stealing. And to those that care... :rotfl:

You're probably the ones calling so and sos parents because you saw their kid outside when they were supposed to be in school, or bashing people for fitting a 5th person into a value resort. Get a life!

Yes.

If two people can share a refillable cup why not ten?
Should you be able to share a plate at an all-you-can-eat buffet?

Where do you draw the line?

OH SCHNAP!

CAN YOU BELIEVE BILLY BOB IS SHARING A CUP WITH HIS SON AT McDONALD'S! THAT IS JUST IMMORAL!

I think the people who are actually judging people for sharing a @#$@#@ drink at McDonald's are the ones who are wrong here.
