Is This Stealing?

But it's the same logic. If one person purchases a drink and shares it and then asks for a refill and shares it, the OP considers that stealing. Whether you get a refill from a fountain or refill from a server, a refill is still a refill. Sharing 1 drink between 2 people, sharing 1 drink between 4 people, sharing 1 drink between 8 people... where do you draw the line?

I agree, but you are talking about food on the dining plan: which you get no more or less because you share between two people.
Happy Meal: No more or less because you are an adult
Sharing a LARGE drink between 2 people: When you DO NOT get refills, you are getting no more or less because you share.

I was just mentioning that those scenarios are not on the same lines as the OP is talking about.

having worked for a restaurant, im here to tell you it costs Mcdonalds no more then 25 cents for the amount of syrup and carbonation they use. Each cup cant cost much either.

Mcdonalds makes a killing charging 1.50 and up for these.

I always order a child size cup if were eating in. Because its refillable. And I go for a refill like 5 times.

I will continue to get all that I can from big conglomorates as long as I can breathe. Their CEO still gets his paycheck. Trust me.

Disney included. Thats like saying DIS members should be charged more per ticket, because of all the knowledge we have. Disney could say we have an 'advantage' on the rest if the world with all our knowledge. :teacher:

Only if it's done on Sundays. Otherwise, have at it! But whatever you do, do NOT share the implements of torture. It's stealing if you didn't bring your own.

I have just read this whole thread and this post has me :rotfl:

I truly applaud your sarcasm Rick!

Thanks everyone for brightening my Friday evening....

(who has been known to buy a happy meal even tho she is 23, share a drink with DFi and yes, we do kiss ;))

Hmmm I'm bored, I don't want to work, let's flip this around a little...

Is it okay to let fast food establisments to take advantage of you? The syrup costs next to nothing for the sodas. The cups are what costs, but I bet that there is close to a 100 percent markup on the drink. Also, for those who are concerned about the environment, wouldn't it be more environemntally sound to share the drink, rather than add another waxy papercup to the trash heap? So what does that extra soda cup cost in terms of the environment?

Oh this thread is too much fun. :teeth:

Let's talk fries---they should offer free refills :teeth: But can we share them when they do that?

I'd love to see some of you at a buffet. "But we don't want to pay for two people - some people eat more than the two of us together, so we only want to pay for one person!" "You are making money off this, we shouldn't have to pay you - what a ripoff!" "If you didn't want us to share a plate, you would put the buffet behind a counter!" "There's no sign saying it's only all one person can eat - 'you' can be used for plural!"

Sharing is one thing, but when you start getting refills or all you can eat - it is implied that that is for one person. It's hard to believe that people are arguing this on the same board where people get fried for cheating on their refillable mugs!

A friend works at Wendy's and when asked about this she said that for every drink that they sell they expect to refill it once if not twice. So if you go to Wendy's and share a drink, as long as you don't get more than 2 refills your OK.

Personally the only place where DH and I share a drink is at Subway. We usually order a large and very rarely get a refill on it. Oh, and maybe at the movies but I'm about floating out of the theater with the large already, I can't imagine getting a refill, I'd never see the whole movie!

I don't think it's tacky or stealing. Life is too short to start acting as the soda police.

I have worked at the Olive Garden part time for 9 years. You would be suprised how many times 1. people share drinks 2. DO NOT understand that the salad is not FREE (it come with the purchase of an entree)

I mean I have had a family of 4 come in and order ONE entree and do not understand why they can't ALL eat the salad for FREE.

Personally, I gather all the neighborhood kids, we head down to the local buffet, and I give them all one plate to share and I encourage them to fill up that plate multiple times. I also bring big ziploc bags with me, and throw some of the food in there to enjoy later. I have almost completely eliminated the need to go grocery shopping! :goodvibes

Actually here..Lets say its a jamba juice..
A regular cost 435 and a large costs 535 a large equals 2 regulars.. Thats a 3.oo diffrenece on two..And they dont mind if you share..They'll even give you an extra cup. :flower:

Now, I don't think that is wrong.....
Hmmm, Jamba Juice sounds good.

Let's add more thought:

What about people who purchase a small cup just because they don't want to pay the price of a large size cup, but then refill it over and over?

Honestly, this has always seemed strange to me - if you have drink refills, why do you have cup sizes, why isn't it all one size? I can see different sizes for the drive-thru/take-out, but for eating in, why the sizes?

Would you openly share the drink if the manager was sitting at the table next to you?

If you hesitated then you know it's wrong.

Where I live we share with everyone.. At the skatepark if you have water you maybe get a sip before you are mobbed

Well now here's a thought....

I have gone to the movies before with all 4 kids standing in line with me. I order 1 large popcorn and 1 large drink and the guy behind the counter says, "Remember the larges are refillable"

I say thank you and we almost never finish it all anyway. But my question is --he obviously saw how many of us there were and HE tells ME to remember they are refillable?? So wouldn't he be considered encouraging it??

Looks like theres going to be a "Shared a refillable soda and talked about it on Disney Boards" Section in hell.. And Ill be sitting there

Again, since you're not refilling, you are welcome to have as many people share it as you want.

I'm going to hell in a handbasket. Dh and I share and refill a drink at fast food places all the time. I also get a refill for the road when I'm alone. I pay for all people in my party at a buffet. I don't share drinks at a sit down restaurant. Though I have been known to take a sip of pop from DH if I'm trying to be good and drink only water

Legitimate uses that do not violate copyright law. They have this thing called a library. It's free. And they contain all of the above for you to borrow--for free.

The discussion at hand is on "all you care to have" items--intended for one person that are shared by two or more people.

Apples and oranges.

try not to take me so seriously, it's Friday and i'm just playing. but thanks for telling about that library place, i'll have to check it out. sounds crazy!!!!
