Hi,

In the mail I received an big envelope from DCL. In it is a letter with my reservation number, date of travel (Jan. 7, 2006), date of when my final payment is due and when I can start making reservations for excursions, Palo's etc. Also in it is a travel kit which is a booklet that explains, dining, excursions, kids club etc. This is something I expected to receive with my travel documents. Is this something new? I really like it. My sister and parents who are on the same cruise didn't receive one. I haven't heard about this before and wonder if others are receiving them too.

I actually got mine in the mail last week. I thought it was really neat that they listed all the dates there so that you can see what's what.
This will be out 2nd cruise, and we didn't get one for our first cruise, so I'm thinking that it must be something new!!
Hopefully everyone else will start getting theirs soon!!

We got the same packet too for our Christmas sailing. Never got it for our past cruise. We got two since we have two staterooms.

We just got one last week, I really like it. It's our first cruise! :goodvibes

Think it must be something new as we booked in October 04 and still have received nothing from Disney and just a copy of the fax from our travel agent.
Just hoping we get the tickets before we leave England early October.

It has to be new as we have done 7 DCL cruises, the last was in May and we have never received anything like that. It would be a great thing to have.
Hope they continue doing this so we will get it in December for our next cruise.

We got it, too -- and LOVE it! We booked directly with DCL (I don't know if that makes a difference or not).

We have the REAS package and made our final payment last week and can make ressies on Saturday, but haven't received anything telling us that we have that opportunity - we booked through Disney and transferred it to AAA for the on-board credit. Had it not been for this website, I wouldn't have known any of the above.

sweet 5 more months until i get mine!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

We booked directly through DCL and received an envelope with the reservation number etc.

We did not get any info in it other than a brochure about travel insurance.

Hi,

We booked through a travel agent. I really like the packet as it makes it seem closer but my daughter saw it in the mail and asked what did Disney Cruiseline send us? I told her it was a planning cd for the cruise we may take in the future. I am keeping it a secret from the kids until Christmas.

I booked my cruise through disney march 2004 and recieved about six weeks later a letter with the details of the cruise.
So it isn't new i think.

Love Ciska :earsgirl: :earsboy:

We booked the 11-day Southern Caribbean, and didn't get this packet. :( I feel left out!

Is it something people get at like 90 - 100 days prior to sailing? If that is the case, I have a LONG wait.

so someone rec'd this that booked through a TA?
We did.... DU to be specific...

For our previous cruises we got the information only a couple of weeks before.

PeterPanFanWDW: We got ours, this new packet of information, a few weeks back and our trip at Christmas...

We also booked with DU and we are going on the Nov 5th western cruise, I have not received any packet. For the people who booked thru TA is the return address on the envelope from Disney or the TA. I would appreciate knowing because I will give DU or Disney a call to find out about it. Thank you for any comments.

OMG! I booked a surprise trip in January for my friend and I (separate cabins, so they have her info). I sure hope they don't send anything to her house!!! :scared1: I wasn't going to tell her till her till the end of September!!!

Just an FYI ... I am a travel agent, and I called DCL this a.m. just to check this out. I spoke with a very knowledgeable (sp?) CM and she ASSURED me that when a trip is booked through a TA, all documentation goes to that agency, and NOT directly to the client. She said they even had a meeting about it and that people who book through TA's and are worried about surprises being "spoiled" need to talk directly to that TA to be sure those documents are not forwarded to the "surprisee." Hope this helps. I think your safest bet is to talk to your TA and make sure he/she hangs on to those documents when they arrive, and send them AFTER the end of September.

Happy Cruisin'
