One evening last week I was enterring MK for EMH eve, and it was about an hour after "regular" closing time. Surprisingly, there were lots of people enterring the park at this time, including a family who was not staying on site. I know this because a Disney CM (management-type, the type I call a Disney "suit")was explaining to this family trying to enter that "this is a private thing just for guests staying on-site, in Disney resorts. I'm not sure exactly what the father said, he seemed pretty disappointed so he kind of mumbled and I didn't want to show I was eavesdropping by saying "Excuse me, sir, could you please speak up?" Then, anyways, the "suit" said "Well, you can come in but you won't be able to go on any rides." So the guy turned to the rest of the family, and they all agreed that it was a good idea to come in and "check it out", so that's what they did. I was kind of surprised-I thought you weren't even supposed to get into the park after regular closing unless you were an on-site guest. But the "suit" sort of sounded like this is the standard thing, yes you can come in, but you can't go on rides.

For Disney it's great that they let them in. They wasted a portion of their ticket, providing they don't have AP's. They won't make the ride lines any longer. All they can do is walk around and spend money on food or merchandise.

Exactly... we were walking around about an hour and a half after regular closing time and on Main Street and the Castle hub there were TONS of people without wristbands. You can't go on the rides, but i'm sure Disney loves them hanging around because everyone we saw were either shopping or buying food, extra money in Disney pockets.

I don't believe they would even be allowed to buy anything without a wristband.

Hmmmmm.... For some reason, I just can't see Disney turning down anyone's money, wristband or not.

On all nights, isn't Main Street open an hour after closing. Lots of people do shopping as the park closes.

Well, if they had already used their tickets that day, they wouldn't be wasting a day. What you say about it being good for Disney if they spend money is certainly true though. :)

They weren't allowing purchases without a wristband on the night we were in Epcot for EMH. They may have changed in since Feb though...

Also a good business move to give potential customers a 'preview' of what they will be getting. Allowing this family in could lead to them staying onsite in the future to take advantage of this 'perk'.
