I currently have reservation for next week with this years points. I am trying to make a reservation for family members in Oct, but have to do a split stay using next years pts. I am going to wait list them so they don't have to transfer, however that will save me 8 pts if it comes through. Is there anyway to transfer the use year pts so I wouldn't have to lose the pts if the wait list comes through?

If you are borrowing points to book the trip and the waitlist for a room that is less, those points are returned to your account as borrowed points and will remain in the UY that you borrowed them into.

If the reservation is a mix of current UY points and borrowed points, then they should return the current UY points to your account and you would be allowed to bank if still in your banking window. Of course, you'd want to make sure this is what they do.

Remember, if you are wait listing for less points, you want to cancel it at the 31 day mark or the points will go in to holding and will need to be used by the end of the UY and will be limited to reservations made 60 days or less from check in.

You also want to end the waitlist before you can no longer bank your points. If you are less than four months out from the end of the UY and the waitlist comes through, those points will expire at the end of the UY, whether they are holding or not.
