See the lady in the while tube top on the front row? Let me just say from personal experience that her girls would not look like that if the ride was in motion. The look more closely resembles someone in a WonderBra who has just undergone a DDDDDD breast augmentation procedure. It is an "uplifting" experience.

It doesn't look like anyone is holding on to the bars on the sides of the seats. You KNOW that kid in front covering his ears would be.
But....I wonder what would happen if you weren't wearing your seatbelt?? Could that happen?

Well if it's a true free fall, physics tells us that gravity pulls at same consistency. negating wind drafts and other interfering obsticles, everything lands at same time. taking that in mind, you'd definately have a cushion of air between you and your seat, but without a forcing uplift you'd won't be touching the ceiling.
now if the ride is forcing the seats down it would be going faster than a natural fall and you would be kissing roof.

I remember watching a special on the Travel Channel and from what I recall. The motors on the elevator do pull the car down faster than gravitiy.

Fake. I agree that the picture is taken while the car is at a stop, just before it goes down.

I've also just compared it with four of my TOT photos here in my office and yes, nothing is standing on end.

I don't understand. Why would ToT take a picture when the car is at a stop? Don't they take it as it falls to get the good reactions??

I've been on it where it took the picture at the top right before we dropped, and I've been on it where it took the picture right as it dropped us. In fact, I was at DHS one day on a band trip, and my friends and I had ridden ToT so many times, we figured out where the picture was taken and we decided to pose for the picture (nothing bad). Well, we got to the top, posed, and the picture didn't take. It dropped us, we flew back up to the top, and the elevator sat for less than a second before it dropped us again. Right as we dropped, we saw the flash of the camera. The picture was priceless - we all had these scared & confused looks on our faces because the camera didn't take the picture at the same spot it had taken earlier in the day (we had already ridden ToT at least 5 times by that point).
