Is This OKW Request Possible

I have reserved a one bedroom at OKW in October ( first visit yeah!). My brother is also vacationing at OKW for the same week and days in a studio. Is it possible to request that our units be together, effectively reserving a lock off 2 bedroom unit for all of us?

We have something similar, my sister is joining us for the end of the week and had a studio while we had the one bedroom. It dawned on me that it would be less points to have a 2 bd than what we original had for the end of the week, so I called and had the room changed to a 2 bd lock off and the studio cancelled.

The difference is that both reservations were using my points. Also, since we will be in a one bd for the beginning of the week and the studio should just be added on, we were told that it's not guaranteed and we may have to move. But it is noted on the reservation and this makes it easier for housekeeping.

I would suggest calling MS and seeing what they can do. Somehow you will probably have to combine your points so that it's only one reservation, whether you use all your points this year and they use theirs next, or one of you transfer points to the other person.

Good luck!

We are both DVC owners and both of us used our own points to book the studio and one bedroom. So can't cancel and rebook. Just wanted to know since we are family if they would combine both reservations into one 2 bedroom lock off unit?

Hey Hope!!! That is an interesting quesiton. I don't know the answer, but I'd love to hear how it turns out.

I hope you have a great vacation with your family!

I called and spoke to MS this morning about a similar situation. Part of our party is arriving a day early so we will book a studio for 1 nt followed by nights in a 2 bedroom lock-off. They told me that the request to get adjoining units so that we would not have to physically move out of the studio could not be guaranteed but they sounded positive that it could happen. All points used would be coming out of the same account although since they are 2 totally separate reservations I don't think it makes a difference where the points are coming from as long as both reservations have the request to be next to one another.

Typically the way they handle such requests is to locate the two rooms near each other - often in the same building but with no guarantee that they would be connecting.

I'd call MS and ask that the request be noted on both reservations (your brother needs to do the same thing). I would also repeat the request at arrival. I would not expect to have connecting villas, but a little pixie dust would be nice! It sure can't hurt to ask.

As noted above, the best way to do this would be to cancel and rebook as a 2BR lock-off so you'd be guaranteed to have what you want (and it would be fewer total points) - if a 2BR is still available.

Thanks Doc! :flower3:

We asked about this for our April reservation at the BCV. While I know it's not a guarantee, MS was helpful by transfering me to someone who noted on both our reservations that we are "traveling with" each other and put a request in that it was possible. If it doesn't happen, it's not a big deal. My daughter has a 1 bedroom for 5 nights and we have a studio for 17 nights, so no way we could book a 2 bedroom unless we wanted to pack up and move, so we are going to take our chances, but it's a request and if we get it, then great. Good luck.
