I am taking DS to WDW for his 6th birthday. That is his birthday gift. His actual birthday is April 2nd and we will be @ WDW April 15-19. Is it ok to get him a 'birthday' pin @ the parks, tell the CMs we are there celebrating his b-day, etc.? I didn't know if it had to be the exact day in order to mention those things.... Just looking for a little pixie dust to make his b-day trip better than ever!!!!

I don't see why not it is so close. I would pick a day and call it his birthday, do a character meal, let him choose the park etc. :teeth:

We are actually doing the same thing in reverse. AMy's actual birthday is April 23 but spring break starts the 1st. I plan to celebrate her birthday there just like it was the actual day. Kelly's actual birthday in June will be spent at the WL. We celebrated her birthday at the CR last year a few weeks early too. I have never thought to pick up the button though.

We did this last October. My DD's birthday was the day AFTER we returned home from our WDW trip. We chose the day BEFORE we came home to celebrate her birthday. We got her the birthday button at MK, and she got lots of special attention all day. Then we had her "Birthday" dinner at Whispering Canyons at the WL (and she got more special attention), and to top it off, we mentioned to the front desk of WL upon check in that we were celebrating her birthday during this trip, and yep you guessed it, MORE MAGIC!! When we were finished eating dinner at WC and went back to our room, the staff of WL had put a chocolate birthday cake in our room, complete with candles, matches, plates, forks, etc.

DEFINITELY GET THE BD BUTTON FOR YOUR SON - EVEN IF IT'S NOT HIS "REAL" BIRTHDAY!

OK! My 49th is 9/30 we arrive 10/22.
Does this mean I can have my :bday: @ WDW?
Please tell me yes.
Let me tell you what happened last year.
My Husband has 4 chidren I have 3 children.
We have 1 together.
Can you believe no one remembered my birthday. :sad2:
Husband included.
He had the nerve to wake me up @ 10:30 P.M.
To tell me sorry I forgot your birthday. :

Brendita...sounds like he owes you some time at the WDW spa!

Where do you get a Birthday Button from? I got my daughters a guest of honor pins, and as it will be their birthdays while we are down there, this might be a great idea! Thanks for any answers. :cool1:

We are going to WDW for my b-day. My b-day is late May, but because we cannot go to WDW until school is out, we are leaving 6/2. I am not going to get the b-day button, however. I just want to go.

 I had considered doing this exactly one month to the day before my daughter "actually" turns 3. Mostly because we are going for her bday but, not realizing that they make a big deal about bdays in WDW, I didn't make it a point to make our trip during her the exact date of her bday. I had toyed with us using Sept 26th (her bday is Oct 26th) as her bday, but I'm afraid that someone will say "so how old are you sweetie", and her say...."two" and me try to say "oh, she just doesn't realize yet" or something equally cheezy. I also am afraid my 4 year old will say "hey - it's not her birthday!" at the most inopportune moment! :rotfl:

Bumping this for comments???

We actually did a birthday week for my son when he turned 6 at Disney. He got birthday pins from all 4 of the parks and talked to Goofy at guest services two times. We had one sit down meal a day at least and they all had a small cake for him. In some cases a card too. It was very sweet and he really enjoyed the attention. The CMs really treated him well.

I would get a birthday pin if you are there to celebrate your child's birthday regardless of the date. You won't regret it.

Have a great day!!

We will be in WDW for my son Jared's 10th b-day (Oct 5). :Pinkbounc His brother's 6th b-day is Oct 21 and he was pretty mad that we couldn't stay for his birthday too.(3 weeks in Disney, don't I wish ;) ) So we're makng Oct 7 Justin's special day to celebrate (2 wks before). I don't see anything wrong with it because of the school schedule we will probably never been in WDW on his actual b-day. I couldn't let his brother be the only one getting the extra special treatment especially when Justin's birthday is so close. :earsboy:

Go to Guest Services at The Town Hall on Main Street. This is on the left side of Main Street just as you walk under the Train Station.

My DD 7th birthday was in the middle of our trip. She got a birthday button from each park and wore them the whole week. We were there Sunday thru Saturday and her birthday was Wed. On the days it wasn't her birthday, we would tell the CM's and all of them would say "Everyday is your birthday at Disney!!" and wish her a Happy Birthday. Also, the restaurants will have cupcakes, or cards, and they don't care if it is not your actually birthday. The cards make nice souveniers. We went to Le Cellier and all the waiter and waitresses signed it, some in French. It was really nice.

I took 4 kids my own dd and ds and a freinds kids to the MNSSHP last October. 3 of them had October birthdays. I got them all birthday buttons at guest service at the MK.
