we haven't been since 1981 and i'm not sure what camp site this is. I had thought it might be FW because it's so neat and tidy but others have said no because of the logs at the bottom and that there was no look out point to have taken that pic from.

can you guys post FW pics? i'm trying to even remember our vacation there but can't seem recall anything.

i found a couple of slides of our trip but only one from River Country had us in the rest are area pictures.

Nope, not FW in my opinion. There is a running thread in this site FW picture of the day that has hundreds of FW pictures.

Nope...but it IS a very nice looking campground!!!

I agree with all of the previous posters- that is definitely not a photo of Fort Wilderness.

Looking at it, I would even say that is not Florida.

At first I thought I saw palm trees, but on closer exam, it looks like they are some kind of willow tree. These don't look like Florida trees to me at all.

It is a neat looking campground.

I wonder what the deal is with the logs in the road? Are they there to keep people from parking on the grass. I'll bet they made it fun to try to back into some of those sites.

OP- did you say you have a River Country photo?

Let's see it!!!

i sure do

i always thought the water was from Bay Lake but this looks like a pool to me - DH swears it's River Country though

that's me in the blue suit coming down the slide :)

if you check the river country thread with photos of the run down pool and grounds you will be able to see what this pool looks like now it is pretty sad :( but it would confirm for you 100% that it is river country.

Oh yes, those two are definitely River Country.

This was a chlorinated pool that was part of River Country.

The part with the flume slides did use water from Bay Lake.

And, this pool is actually still there.

Only it doesn't look so nice now:

If you look, you can still see the slide that you were on in your photo.

Oh, and nice Speedos on those boys in the second photo.:scared1:

And, look at that guy diving in the pool.

You can't dive in a pool anywhere these days.

that is sad about River Country. at least put it out of it's and our misery and completely demolish it.

i think that's my brother diving can't see why my dad would take a pic of someone else lol

ya - gotta love the 80's speedo's LOL

As others have said definitely NOT Fort Wilderness. I was just looking at some slides from Christmas 1977. Loops were paved, but our site was all gravel. I don't remember that, but pictures don't lie. And WOW was it Fort WILDERNESS, the trees and bushes were amazing. Love to post it and share, but still trying to find a good way to digitize over 10,000 slides.

ya that's what i'm doing too lol

got a small single slide scanner - vuscanner or something like that. doesn't actually take that long
