Hi all,

I have an acquaintance who is supposedly paying $4,000 for a Disney employee to lead them around the park, skip lines, let them ride as many rides as they want with no wait, see the shows, etc. all for up to 8 people in this group.

This acquaintance told my husband this, who told me, and said he can't believe it (I don't either) and asked me to check here with you guys :) So this can't be legit, right? What is this person talking about??

Yup, that's the VIP tour services. :)

It's called a VIP tour, and yes it's real lol.
ETA: looks like you got a triple simultaneous response lol!

Ah, thank you everyone! I had never heard of this! We've been invited to go on the tour with them so I will need to research this!

Anyone thinking they can "ride as many rides as they want with no wait" will be disappointed. Hype is not reality.

If you're going for free, don't research just go and tell us all about it!

I asked Disneyland Resort spokesperson Suzi Brown for clarification, and she explained that guests who book the Premium VIP tour can use the Fastpass entrance at every attraction that offers that service, and have "preferred access" to more than a dozen other attractions. As of this writing, the current list includes:

Disneyland attractions:

It’s a Small World
Storybook Land Canal Boats
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
Pirates of the Caribbean
Haunted Mansion
Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage
Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters
Matterhorn Bobsleds
Alice in Wonderland

Disney California Adventure attractions:

Monsters Inc. Mike & Sully to the Rescue
Muppet *Vision 3D
Toy Story Midway Mania!
Jumpin’ Jellyfish
Ariel’s Undersea Adventure

Yep the VIP package is very nice and you should go for sure. You do not get front of the line to every ride but they go get you on most rides much faster then if you waited.

I few years back I did engineering work with a company at Disneyland and a a perk we got once was a escort through the park with a exec. with his and my family and that day really was VIP we did get to go straight to the front of the line to everything we wanted to ride watched F! front the dream suite. ate dinner in CLUB 33. It was a very fun day at the park. The best part was it was free to us.

I do have to say while tours like that are nice, there is a lot to be said for touring the normal way as well VIP tours feel rushed because you try to use every minute of your expensive time.

Thanks all, since this is being offered to us for free, I think we're going to take it. I'm excited now! The information I heard about "all the rides" was passed down to me from my husband, who heard from his friend, whose wife planned the trip lol. So things could have gotten lost in translation between the two husbands. Either way it looks like a quicker way to get on rides and hear some fun history about Disneyland!

The VIP tours are awesome you will get fast pass entrance to all fast pass rides and there are many other rides that let you bi-pass the que when with a host. Also the guide will have a great idea of where to go to advoid crowds and will have many little secrets to share. You are a lukcy one to be going on a VIP tour.

So amazing Southlake! Please report back after your trip and tell us all about it. From what I've read from others on here doing the VIP tour is pretty awesome! Have a great time!:goodvibes

A few notes on VIP tours:

There is a limit of 10 guests per guide, and children (even infants) that don't need tickets count.

Unlike many CMs, VIP guides accept tips.
You might offer to tip the guide, your host might appreciate it :goodvibes
$10/hour seems typical, some guest are more generous.

VIP guides are able to arrange preferred viewing for nighttime shows (Fantasmic!, Fireworks, WOC), which can be made for after the guide has left your group for the evening.

Thanks for this info! I really want to see Fantasmic! so I hope that's something that will work out for us! There would only be 6 of us in the group, including kids.

Information above is from Mouse Planet in AUg 2012.

Rides have changed since she wrote this in Aug 2012.

Alice in Wonderland is no longer on the list of rides available. I *think* it was replaced with Pinnochio. Mater's is now available to VIP. The tour is excellent. I took my nieces and nephews last 5th of July. They circled Screamin' 5 times before I moved them on. Then because it is my favorite ride, we rode TSMM 2x. The VIP tours are a blast, especially if you get a great guide.
