is this first day too crazy??

let me start by saying we go To Disney almost every year. This trip is just the girls DD 14 and DD13 and we are taking an adult friend who has NEVER been to WDW. We fly in and arrive at 11:00 and staying at AKL for 9 days. We almost never see the daytime parade at MK. It starts at 2:00. Do you think we can get there for the parade?? Then we will shop Mainstreet a little then take the Monorail to Epcot for the evening. I have FP for Frozen then we will snack around the world, but not stay for fireworks. Am I trying to do too much on the first day??

You *might* be able to make it to the parade but it would definitely be a time stretch. I would plan on getting a good spot for the parade on a different day. Everything else on your first day sounds totally doable. Hope you have a great time! We loved our stay at AKL.

Anytime someone asks if they are trying to do too much, the answer is usually "yes".

Ummmmmm...I don't think it would be too much for you...but I think your friend will be completely overwhelmed. There is something to be said for a gingerly stroll up to the gate so the friend can take it all in....commando to get there for the 2:00 parade might be too much. Me rushing in the gate just to get a spot for parade, then having to leave....my first time at MK....ever....not a good vibe. But that is just me. It would be like reaching for the biggest cookie only to have your friend grab it first.....not a deal breaker, just a game changer.

Just taking in the lobby at AKL your first trip is an hour long experience.....ohhhhh the joy of that lobby.....

I would keep your plans, but only as far as going to MK when you arrive rather than trying to make the parade. If you make it in time, great! But if you don't you can see it another day since you have a wonderfully long trip to WDW.

if you're there for 9 days, why try to jam the parade in then? and why not stay for Illuminations?

I'd either stay and do MK, or just do Epcot that first day.
