My family and I are debating whether or not to get the regular dining plan or the deluxe. We have had both. We do love signature restaurants but the thought of spending so much time by having a sit down meal for breakfast AND dinner seems to be too much this trip. This is not a question about getting a plan or not as my husband prefers to have one and a less stressed out husband on vacation, the better! I guess my question is do many find that the regular dining plan is enough on days where you have no sit down meals? I can do a few signatures and just use my credits for the days I do but what about when we have no meal? I guess I am just looking for responses of those who have chosen this route. I can budget for other meals or I can just bump up to deluxe and just use the credits for a counter services which seems like a waste of money. Any advice??

You can budget for other meals. I would also suggest looking at QS meals that can be shared, and make use of Snack credits (2 per day on regular DDP) as well. Things like soups can often be had as snack credits, and soup is food.

We make it work with the regular DDP. Our trip in the fall is 6 days/5 nights and we will do one signature, if it were longer I'd do two. The other days are a combo of TS and QS, as well as a food and wine day where we mostly use saved up snack credits. You get two snack credits a day now so that can help to fill in. It helps to look into the best use of snack credits, that way you can get something a little more filling if needed! We also do a garden grocer order so we have snacks/breakfast stuff (and beer :) ) in the room.

Thank you! I hadn't thought about soups and things like that being used as snack credits. Is there a place where I can see what is considered a snack credit at each place? Thanks again for you response!

We will go to food and wine at least one day and we were going to snack around the world so that works! We will have garden grocer deliver a few snacky things so that should help too. Thanks for the reassurance that it can be done :) Have a great trip!
