Is this considered an add on or new contract/purchase

I currently own SSR and BCV points. The deeds are just in my name. I want to purchase points at Boulder Ridge and add my two adult children to the deed. Will this be considered a new contract with a new membership number or can I still have it under my current membership number as an add on??

The purpose of buying directly thru dvc will be to allow my DS and DD access to the membership perks since they do not live with me. I was about to buy some more BCV points resale until I was informed that DS and DD would not be able to buy annual passes as a DVC member due to the recen rule changes.

I would have asked my guide but he is on vacation this week.

Thanks

Mimmie :)

It would be a new contract with a new membership number, because the names on the title are different.

It will also be subject to new contract minimums for a master contract if purchased direct (although, buying BRV direct is best done for 50 points or less, and I believe master contract minimum there is 50 or 100).

Why not add them to your deed?

Unless I am mistaken, I was to understand that it is somewhat of a hassle to add names to a deed. I only need 70 points so something to consider if i need to buy the 100 minimum.

It's less expensive than 100 points at $165/point for a 2042 resort...

We are in the process of doing this now. We did it both ways. Just purchased two new contracts from GFV, each of the two with one of our three children (as well as us) which as mentioned, meant a new contract with a new member number. Our third child prefers BCV so we are in the process of adding her name to one of our current contracts. Asked Disney for the necessary paperwork which took about two weeks. Faxed the papers to "First Title", in California I believe, and for $450 (with the chance of a few more charges), they will handle everything for us. Lots of discussion about direct or re-sale but we wanted them to be able to purchase Annual Passes (like you) as well as having any and all perks with direct.

You can do it for around $100 yourself if you want to go with a quit claim deed. For only 70, I likely wouldn't buy as a separate account even if they'll sell it to you. I'd either add them first to one or both of your current contracts or not add them. Or I'd buy maybe 70-100 points resale elsewhere.
