Is this completely crazy?

We're thinking of switching our GV at Kidani to make use of developer pts. at a GV at SSR? Are we crazy to make that switch? I'd appreciate any opinions, pros, cons, etc....

One question would be "do you have another time you are going to use your developers points?" If not, then it certainly makes sense to switch and use them rather than lose them.

Well, we would lose them if not used by Oct.'09. It would mean having to take another trip (aside from our May trip) before Oct.

Downsides as I see them.....
The GV at AKV will surely be spectacular (but will it be significantly better than SSR's?)

If we took another trip before Oct., we wouldn't be able to go in Dec.

Thanks for that. Aside from what is shown in the Dream book, do you have any details avout the SSR GV's?......location in the resort, room specifics, etc.?

I agree with Starbox, the GV at SSR are really nice. I would visit the model each trip just to see the GV before we stayed in 1 for our family reunion in 2007.

There are GV's in each bldg. They have the large picture windows. Our GV was in Congress Park. My family really loved it and I would stay again in a heartbeat.

I would use the DP's. AKV is great also, but I would not lose points to stay there.

What about switching to a Jambo House GV since those units are more unique (all 1 floor, pool table, etc) and then use the DPs for the SSR GV earlier in the year? You could still try out the Kidani GV down the road so you get to experience both GV types at AKV, something few people can say they have done. As the build-out finishes over the next year there will be more Kidani GVs so availability should be slightly better than the limited number of Jambo GVs, especially as more owners start competing for them.

Thanks for all the input everyone. I actually switched to SSR and then back to Kidani in the same day. I figured that I'd look for a good airfare and take another tri p to SSR before kids are back in school.....never too much WDW you know! This way, we'll see new GV at Kidani, stay at SSR AND check out the new BLT (hopefully) in early Sept.! Thanks, Happy Planning and Happy New Year!
