We will be 3 people in our group- my DH, DS6 and me. On rides that only fit 2 people, could my DS and Dh ride first. I would wait a while, then get in line, then when they were done riding , my DH could pass DS to me in line. Would that be considered cutting in line? Is it even possible- are there places that DH could pass DS to me?

Thanks

isn't that what the unoffical guide calls "chunking bubba"?

If your DS doesn't want to ride, you can trade waiting with him, so you and your DH can ride some of the more adventuresome attractions. When you get in line, inform the CM at the line entrance that you will be doing the kid swap. You can also do what you described. This might come in handy on Dumbo. For only one kid, I wouldn't have a problem with passing him in to you.

I don't own an unofficial guide yet. Have I described what they call "chunking Bubba" - does that mean it's okay or even possible to do?

It is allowed. For instance at the Dumbo ride, which only fits two people, your DH and DS get in line, then you let 15 or so people get in front of you and then get in line. Then when DH and DS get off, DS gets passed to you and gets to ride again.

Talk to the cm at the line entrance for the procedure for that ride.

i believe it's "chucking bubba" and it's typically acceptable... if you have 14 kids being chucked into the line, you might have problems, but for one child, i cannot see it being a big deal to those in line behind you... the UG gives a list of attractions and how many people to let pass ahead of you before the 2nd parent gets in line...

Thanks-

I know my son will want to ride a few rides over and over and I also know that the lines will get longer and longer as the day goes on. I thought it might be fun if he could ride once with each of us.

Anybody know if this can be done at Test Track? My DS is crazy about TT and FP's are sometimes completely distributed by 1 pm. If he could ride twice this way it would be great.

because of the way test track queues up, i don't think it would be do-able... unless you have a younger child and you do the "baby swap" giving ds the chance to ride w/each parent while the other parent stays w/the "baby"

How old is your DS? We do the single rider line, it's usually short to non-existent and allows us to ride more often. We will get a fast pass, then go back through the single riders line to ride again. My dd was 7 when we did that the first time, not sure if they still let one so young do it or not. They questioned her age this last trip, she was 8, told us again that she would have to ride alone. We told them we knew, we do it all the time, and they let her in.

But it sounds like you plan to spend your trip separated most of the time with this plan! Don't the parents want to enjoy being together too?

I can only think of a couple rides that only fit two, offhand only Dumbo, BTMR and Barnstormer come to mind, although I have been on all of those with my two kids, three in the same car. So unless you have three very big people there really isn't a need as you can ride together the first time.

Unless your doing it just to get Jr twice the rides in which case I will withhold my comment on that.

I guess you may be able to do this for Dumbo but probably not for any of the others, especially if you are using fastpass.

Since Test Track seats 3 across, you wouldn't need to do this. The child can ride with mom and dad at the same time.

There are very few rides that only seat 2. In addition-- lets use Peter Pan for example--- how are you going to pick your spot exactly in line to be getting on after DH gets off. Plus-- he'd have to get your child to you. You unload at one end of the moving belt and reload at the other. It's not feasible to think you're going to stand there and allow people to just keep going in front of you until DH makes it back w/ the child.

I would think for the very few rides this will be an issue-- just take turns. We are a family of 3 and on those few rides 1 of us just rides alone (since it doesn't happen often). You can use baby swap (have to have a child sitting out of the ride though) for rides w/ height requirements.

I noticed someone mentioned Big Thunder as being a 2 seater. Up until last year (DS is now 12) we sat 3 to a car and I'm a pooh sized gal. So, there's really only going to be an issue on things like Peter Pan, Dumbo, Spaceship Earth, Indy cars, and Barnstormer. I'm sure I'm missing something, but it's realtively a small list.

BTW, the UG lists this procedure for Dumbo. It doesn't work for the others listed because of the loading and unloading que's.

You are right, sorry. We have done BTMR as a threesome, as well as Peter Pan and Spaceship Earth. That narrows down the two seaters to the Indy Cars, Dumbo and maybe the barnstormer. Honestly I can't imagine the planning and passing of a kid of 6 years old happening on any of these!
