Is this allowed, or at the very least, frowned upon?

We are doing an Illuminations cruise, which leaves from a dock near the Yacht/Beach club. We have Epcot planned for that whole day. Is it possible to park at the Yacht/Beach club in the morning so our car will be right near where we get off the cruise late that night? We don't plan to go back into Epcot after the cruise.

I don't want it to appear like we are trying to skip out on paying for parking. We are offsite and know parking will be a daily charge for us. I'm looking at it as more of a convenience issue.

I suggest valet parking, that is allowed and not frowned upon. Parking at a resort for free for the purposes of convenience to a theme park is frowned upon.

How would you be able to park there? Wouldn't you have to tell the guard you have a reservation there? I think you could pay for valet parking for the day without issue.

Valet is one option, or you could park at DHS and take the boat. When the cruise is over you'll be right by the dock where the friendship boat will take you back to DHS. It's not as quick as valet, but we did this once and it was easy and relaxing. Way better than walking to the front of epcot.

It's more of a convenience for the Illuminations cruise which is not in a theme park. We were toying with the idea of doing Typhoon Lagoon that day as well. If we do, I don't want to waste a day of our pass just to walk through Epcot and go out the other end.

I guess it depends if we do Epcot or TL.

Doesn't matter, you don't have to enter a park to park at Hollywood studios and take the boat to yacht club....

It is not allowed to park at a resort in regular parking spots and then go to the park for the day.

Just make sure DHS closes late enough that the boat is still running, or you may have a very long walk to your car! The boat usually runs for about 60 minutes after DHS closes - which may be BEFORE Illuminations begins at 9:00.

You should be able to park at YC in the evening, given that you have a reservation for the cruise. You just can't park there in the AM and stay all day, unless you valet park.

If you do TL that day, wouldn't you just park the car at TL and move it to Yacht/Beach Club when it's time for the cruise? Parking at Y/B Club is fine for the duration of the cruise, it's only frowned upon when you're parking there while at Epcot for the day.

Yeah - if you're going to TL, I don't know why you'd park at Epcot.

If it were me - if going to TL/Cruise, I'd park at TL, then move the car to BC/YC parking lot when it's cruise time.

If going to EP/Cruise, I'd valet park at BC/YC for the day. It's only slightly more expensive than parking in the theme park lots. If you wanted to save a few bucks, you could do what PP suggested and park at DHS and then use boats to get you where you need to be.

I've visited several resorts over the last few years and just told the gate guard I was stopping by for a visit. The guard didn't ask for a reservation or tell me I had a limited amount of time to spend there. Not saying that you should park at a resort when visiting a park, just noting that I've never been asked to provide proof of reservation.

It depends on how crowded it is

We are eating at 1900 Park Fare for the morning Character Breakfast. If we use valet parking can we leave the car there and go to the park without moving it? Will it be alright there all day?

Using valet parking, yes.

Yes - once you pay to valet, you're good.
