Is this a new policy?

We were there August 7th-15th and they were there every day we used buses (not until the 10th)

forgive the slightly on topic/off topic request - but for those who may not be fluent in dis acronyms, is there a glossary of these abbreviations and acronyms used on the boards? :):thanks:

Yes. HERE.

For whatever reason Disney doesn't "advertise" that buses start early for ADRs and Tours.:)

Here are "first bus times" on one of my days at All-Star Sports during my last trip.:)

Looking forward to when these boards are at all resorts! And even better, on MDE!!

This is from the email I just got from Disney on 8/23 Entitled-Your Hotel Arrival:
RESORT TRANSPORTATION
From your Resort, you can take a bus to all four Theme Parks, the Water Parks and the Downtown Disney® area as well. Complimentary transportation is available one hour prior to Disney Theme Park opening time up to one hour after Disney Theme Park closing time. Additionally, buses operate until 2 a.m. from the Downtown Disney area.

I know-the one hour after Park Close is what always catches me-I can't tell you the number of times I've had to walk back to All-Star Sports from Magic Kingdom!lol;):)

What about the monorail system from Contemporary to EPCOT? That's going to be a huge portion of our December trip. When do they start running?

That might be their canned reply but I know in my personal experience the buses definitely start picking up at the resorts by 6:30 a.m. and are still running more than an hour after closing. On our trip in June we were on a bus to MK @ 6:45 a.m. for an 8:00 a.m. opening...and the driver said he wasn't the first bus to pick up at our resort that morning. We've also gotten on a bus more than an hour after MK closed. Every bus driver will tell you that the buses run until all the guests are back at their resort at night.

Yup. It's the WDW Transportation Myth that just won't die.

Aren't you glad you're on this board and know better than the inaccurate dumbed down "official" WDW info?

Heck, if the real policy was actually published by Disney, my post count would only be around 483.

All this week, Pop Century Buses have been about 10-15 minute waits. EMH parks had buses ready early in the morning; we found them at the bus stop waiting for passengers the 3 mornings we got to the parks early.

You've got to figure in the distance to the parks from your resort - MK is the longest trip for us, so we expect the buses to take at least 20 minutes to show up. Never has been that long, but since it's further away than HS or Epcot, we figure it takes longer to do a full loop. They have more buses on the loop, maybe?
Does POP Century have those neat screens with bus arrival times too?? I didn't see it listed on the first page of this thread. Thanks in advance!

Checking the bus timing before you leave the room! That would be awesome!
Yes! Or...What if they dedicated a portion of one of the TV channels where they give other resort info? It would be hard to tear the remote from DD, but may be helpful to have a screen up in sight as we get closer to being ready to leave.

I know, crazy talk, here...

Interesting that MK and AK both opened at 8AM that day, but the MK bus was 40 minutes earlier than AK. ADR times are not affected by EMH or early opening MK days are they?

What about at the Parks Any bus Info there? or still just wait and Pray?

No Boards at the Parks currently.:)
Does the time of year affect the starting times of the buses at all? I have an 8:20 breakfast ADR at DHS on Feb. 1 and am staying at ASM. Officially, I can't make it. This board tells me I can but does the fact it is low season have any impact?

You can use the buses early every day.

The precise reason that Disney runs the buses early is because they DO sell early-morning, before-park-opening events and breakfasts.
Since they do that, they provide a method for on-site guests to get to them.

BTW, on the very rare days that MK opens at 7AM for AM EMH (certain holiday dates,)
the buses will begin operation even earlier than usual.

:welcome: to the DISboards, rjmaple!
