is this a good rental car deal?

It seems like a pretty good rate. I would book it, but I agree with the previous poster who said to continue monitoring the rate. I've been looking for a rental car in FL. for two weeks in June. I've been doing searches on Travelocity for car only for my dates periodically over the past month or so and have found rates for the same dates that vary by more than $700. The good thing is most rental companies don't even require a credit card to lock in a rate once you find a good one.:)

thank you! so far that rate is cheaper than even a standard size for those dates so I think it is a pretty good deal!

Normally I would say you could much better....but this spring....:confused3

You may be able to snag a last-minute rate in the next day or two...

I was able to use the Flying Blue contract code (8572130) with National and got 9 day minivan rental for $390 and I went ahead and signed up for the Emerald Club and just in case I signed up for the Flying Blue too. Flying Blue is the frequent flier program for AirFrance and is free to join. Regular price before the discount was about $630.

Ren, do yourself a favor -- check the rate on National using only your Emerald Club contract ID -- I don't remember it offhand 57XXX or something (you should have been sent it when you joined Emerald).

Don't use the KLM when you do this check.

You may be surprised. The KLM is $60 more expensive for me on my dates. Maybe you will get lucky -- but way things are this year, maybe not. :confused3

Even if you reserve using your Emerald Club number, it does not apply any Emerald Club Contract ID discounts unless you enter that contract number.

My daily check this morning showed $266 for FlyBlue (has been at that figure since January). Using Emerald Contract ID and no FB, rate was $206.

I did a quick Google search for that code (5007125) and entered it using my dates without yhe KLM code and got a total price of $697.36. Did I use the wrong code?

Gosh Ren, the things I do for you....;)

I had to go open national and check the contract number! And, yes you used the correct # and as long as you entered it into the contract id box, you did it right :thumbsup2

As long as I was in there, I went ahead and checked one more time for my April trip.
FB contract ID $266.xx (total cost)

No code or coupon $242.xx (total cost)

Emerald Club $206.xx (total cost)

Sorry it did not work for you, but heck, worth a shot right. You might want to keep checking them all though, things change.

Just goes to show, one "deal" for someone is not always a "deal for someone else."

I'm just happy that I don't have to pay $700 and even happier that I don't have to catch a shuttle to the garage. I didn't realize that rental prices varied so much.

You are totally correct: one "deal" for someone is not always a "deal for someone else." I just reran the ressie I have for 3/27-3/31 using my log in for EC and the AirFrance code and then with the one you gave.
with AF and coupon code nd9327fak the total is: 172.35 and with the info you gave and the same coupon: 246.32. This is for EA service and is total out the door.

I have a midsize suv from hertz from mar 24 to mar 29 for $260. is that good?

Sounds like a good rate for an SUV. You can check around on line for any discount coupons or codes, but we are paying that for 8 days from MCO for a full sized car. The SUV for the 8 days was over $400 if that helps.
