Hi
Have found a lovely luxurious penthouse at Vista Cay, £2055 for 21 Nights.
There will be 7 of us and we will all fit in ok as I have checked out the space etc.
Thomson upgraded flights, £5633 total for all 7 of us, about £810 each.
So £2055 and £5633 = £7688 total, so just over £1000 per person, 3 weeks flight and really nice accommodation?
I think £1000 per person is good for a 3 week holiday.
What do you think?
This is next Oct (2013).
Thanks
Karen

The flights seem a bit steep and I don't know the resort so can't comment. Does it hv 3 bedrooms or 2 and a sofa bed in the lounge? Hv u looked at a two bedroom onsite as u wld get free dining so tht would more or less cover food for you.
If you are happy with the price then go for it. You cld do a dummy run goin on yr dates this year looking at VA flights direct and then hotels .hotels.com/alpharooms or another site tht has the hotel you want. Some hv the 10% discount code. Blue heron beach resort and lake buena vista resort village and spa hv really nice accommodation and bonnet creek which is located in WDW gates is also very nice.
Good luck.

Hi
It has 3 bedrooms (one king, one queen, one twin) with a double sofa bed).
2 bed onsite doesn't suit our needs.
We are travelling as a family of 4 (me, DH, and our 2 DS's), my parents, and my nephew (15). So we need 3 bedrooms and then the sofa bed for the 15 year old.
Also, we don't want free Disney dining, as we want to stay Self catering and also won't be doing disney everyday.
I have had an estate agent price it up for us and it was coming out at over £10,000 for virgin flights and the same accommodation so £7,000 seems a bargain in comparison.
I thought the flights were a good price, as I priced up for this year and it was over £1,000 each for flights for the same dates, so again, I thought £810 each was good seeing as these were upgraded seats too.
Any other comments to help me with my decision?
Thanks peeps.

Well I think you have answered your own question. Uv priced everything up don't want to stay on site or need Disney dining been to a travel agent. Like I said if happy book it. I personally would not book this early and found prices are at a premium this far in advance not so much with flights but with accommodation. Does it include car hire? It's a personal choice and I'm sure others will give you there thoughts as well:thumbsup2 off to hv a look at vista cay now. I'm curious;)

It looks lovely doesn't it?! I've not found anything else within budget that looks so lovely.
Am thinking to book the condo now, and wait until November/December to book the flights.
Is it cheaper to book the flights a year in advance then?
The Virgin flights seem crazy high to me.

I would wait myself, hope to get better prices, I usually book between 6-11 months out for everything, never more than 11 months, I like to wait for all options to be available.
Others prefer to book and be done with it.

we are a family of 5 and all the flight quotes i have had have been more than that , sounds good for so many of you

I think I would wait for the flights def as you could prob do virgin at same price

Is it best to book flights as soon as they go on sale then as virgin flights for this Oct are really expensive.

Possibly but more often than not Virgin release flights at a premium knowing people are waiting to book. They then drop them but if they are selling well they will keep them high. No-one can know.
I set a price I am willing to pay if they don't fall below that price I fly indirect, last Oct we flew American Airlines at £490pp which also gave me enough airmiles for a free nights hotel(booked for this July) worth £60 so the flight really cost £430. At the time I booked VA wanted about £800pp. We are lucky we enjoy indirect as much as direct.

I think if it was just us, I would be happy to fly in-direct but we are travelling with my parents and our 2 kids, who will only be 5 and 2 so would prefer direct.

What's the normal average direct flight to Orlando or Sanford?

I don't know what's an acceptable limit price to set myself.

I would say it sounds like you are happy with the price so book :)

I don't think £1000 is bad for where you are staying and for upgraded flights for 3 weeks! Looks pretty good to me!
