Hi! I've been watching Southwests flights for July and our flight for the 14th just dropped this morning from $144 to $104 for one way. Our return flight is still $144 so I'm holding out hope it will go down soon as well. I haven't booked yet but I'm wondering if I should jump on the $104 flights? When we flew down in August 2007 I was able to get $59 down and $79 back but I'm not sure if those days are gone! There are 6 of us traveling. Any advice on if the $104 will go down again or should I grab it now?

Thanks!!!!

Tracy

I think the flights will get cheaper than $104 oneway. I just booked one way for July 9th and got 6 tics for $79 each plus all the crazy taxes. I think mine will prolly go down to $59 or $69, when they do, I will rebook. I think you have a little time before booking, I wouldn't book the $104, if you decide to book now, just book oneway, keep watching fare, when they go down rebook and then use the credit for your return flight.

We are only about 40 minutes from you, and have family in Lunenburg! We just went to Leominster last weekend for a cheerleading competition. I did book last night out of Manchester for $104, leaving in the evening, and $104 coming home. Changed this morning for the same price out of Providence due to being closer. However, we did change our dates from 6/29 - 7/10 to 6/30 to 7/12 to get the cheaper fare. We will probably just sleep at a hotel near MCO and catch DME in the morning back at MCO. I saw that suggestion on these boards! Otherwise, we''ll go to a value resort the first night.

I have always paid about the same fares you have, but it is just a relief to know that I do have tickets. It came to $229 with taxes and fees. Yes, I do think some fares will come down, but it is also around the 4th of July for us. I'd rather receive a credit than pay more, and I don't think the fare I purchased is ridiculous. Good luck with you choice!

If you are happy with the $104, then I would book it. August 2007 was a loong time ago and prices have gone up. Back in 2007, I was able to book SW from Philly for $49 each way. The lowest I have gotten the past year was $79.
If the prices go down, you can get a credit with SW. If they go up, consider yourself a winner, since you booked when they were cheaper.

I say BOOK, I just re-checked mine for a last minute trip and from yesterday it is UP another $40  I booked, those that wait.....risk it

If you're looking at flying out of MHT, I'd say book the $104. MHT hasn't had flights at $79 in a couple years. The cheapest I've seen in the past year has been $92 I think and that was a price that you had to really pounce on because it went away quickly. $97 stuck around for a bit but that's the best I've seen. Flights have definitely gone up in our neck of the woods. $104 may be the lowest we'll see for a while.

Don't forget that SW has the 1st two pieces of baggage checked for free! Another reason I booked at the $104 instead of going to another airline.

We have also flown into Tampa when good fares have been offered, but we were already planning on renting a car during those trips. Otherwise, it isn't usually worth the difference, if any.

I'm so glad I decided to listen to the advice of my fellow DISers :goodvibes Booked our flights down yesterday out of Manchester at $104 and today they're back up to $149!!! Man I would of been kicking myself if I hadn't done it :cool1: Now if our return flights would just drop a bit I'd be doing the happy dance :banana:

Thanks so much guys!!!!

Tracy

Gottalovedisney.....I am kicking myself....my flights were $69.o/w out of Buffalo yesterday and the day before, but no I had to wait til Friday to book. They went up to $104. o/w.....:scared1:

Tracy, you must be very relieved that you booked part of your trip!:worship: You'll probably do fine for your trip back too.:surfweb:

Those of you who are in shock over the price, don't stress too much. Ticket prices tend to go up over the weekend, before coming down midweek.

That said, I am very relieved to have my tickets at $104 each way at this point. The only thing stressing me out now is whether to pay for EBCI, as I do have my 8 year old, and also DD and friend who would want to sit together. We always print our passes 24 hrs in advance, but this EBCI just really bugs me! Maybe the fare will drop and I'll use it for EBCI. $50 is a lot of dough to get better seating. I forgot all about it when booking our flights.

Can SW credit be used for ECBI?

This will be our first time staying at AKV!!! We're soooo excited!! Well I am anyways :rotfl: The kids were a bit reluctant to break away from their beloved Epcot Resorts but I managed to convince them that 4 nights out of an 11 night trip wouldn't kill them! I've always wanted to stay there since the first time we visited :goodvibes Then we move over to the BWV! We've stayed at the Inn before but this will be our first time staying in one of the DVC properties...I love hearing positive feedback on AKV, like I said I had to really push for this one :lmao: When in July will you be there? Maybe we'll run into each other!

WOW! Someone who knows where Leominster and Lunenburg are! Howdy neighbors! If you have family in Lburg chances are good I know them! We've lived here all our lives and it's a small town :goodvibes

I am VERY relieved to have booked the flights down at a price I can live with! Now the trip feels real :rotfl: I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that they might come down a little more, then I can use the credit to help pay for the flight back! Since we're coming home on a Sunday I already know I'll be paying more for that end..hmmmmm unless I can talk DH into staying an extra night:banana: 11 nights, 12 nights, whats the difference! :lmao:

Our family Christmas parties were on Stetson Ln., until 3 years ago! I grew up in Sterling, so Leom. was where we shopped. Can't forget those memories of good ol' Whalom Park though! Always liked to bring the oldest of my 3 kids to Roll on America during April vacation before they outgrew it.

I haven't figured out how to do the sig. at end of posts yet, but have not a Disney lover son-19, DD-17, DS-8 and DH too. Oldest son finds it too hot, crowded, etc.(but really is a wonderful kid), so you are lucky to have all your family still happy to go! He's happy to go to the Cape sometime after we come back.

I feel guilty leaving him though, but then again, it allows me to give him money to go snowboarding in VT on spring break next week, therefore giving him a break from our little Mt. Wachusett!

Wasn't one of the SW dings today from MHT to MCO during May at $99? This makes me think that $104 was definitely good to book. Gas prices went up .07 since last night when I filled my tank, and one only can imagine what happens next. I'm envious of your stay at AKV and BWV's, as we can only swing POR, but with free QSDP!
