Looking to go on Nov 3rd, 2 people staying in a cat 06A verandah room, level 8, 9 or 10. Price quoted is £726

Anyone done this cruise? Is this a good price? Just wondering if I should book now or wait to see if the price comes down:confused3

Thanks :goodvibes

i assume that's on the Disney Dream...
the Dream is more expensive than the other ships right now and through the spring and summer it's almost sold out..
but you're talking about november....so i really don't know...

often the prices on the short cruises only go up, not down....
but november is sort of off season...so i don't know....

i can tell you that when we cruised - we reserved way in advance...
as it got close to the sail date, they had tons of room left...
you would expect them to lower the price, but they didn't...not to the general public..
they lowered the price to florida residents only....
so they completely filled the ship with florida residents...
but we still had a bargain for having reserved early, because for the general public the price was up....

so...i don't know what to tell you...
it's possible there will be discounting if they don't fill the ship....
but more likely they'll either discount to florida residents only or have a kids sail free deal....

in any case, the deposit is refundable up to 2 months before the cruise..
so couldn't you just cancel and rebook if the price goes down?

I have been looking to see if I can find anything about deposits being refundable but I can't seem to find anything on the website?:confused3

I think that is a great price - we have done the 3 night and it's really good value in as much it includes all food and soft drinks. You stop in Nassau and Castaway Cay which is definitely worth the visit.

I would be very surprised if the price came down - the rule of thumb is usually the earlier you book, the cheaper. There are some exceptions for the less well booked cruises such as the Med cruises where offers start coming out, but I have not known this on a Nov Caribbean cruise.

The only thing you could consider is opting to pay in $ as if the rate improves over the coming months, your final balance would effectively come down.

We have cruised twice, once on the 9th Nov, the other the 29th Oct (7 nighter) and both times it coincided with 'Jersey week' when the New Jersey schools are closed for a few INSET days so the cruises were full of NJ-ers, and both sailings were booked out.

Some people will say that the 3 night is not really worth it and to try to go for longer, but we were very unsure about cruising and it was great as a taster. You can always cruise another time for longer if you love it!

Disney cruises can usually be cancelled for a full refund of all monies paid up to 75 days before the cruise, we have cancelled one in the past. I am sure this is still the case, but you may wish to check on the cruise board.

Any other questions, fire away!

concierge level is nonrefundable, but i'm pretty sure deposits are refundable for everyone else..

i gave you a pretty general answer above...
what i can say, historically, the prices of the short cruises have not gone down..

i'll even give you a more definitive answer - make the reservation..
if you want to do the cruise, then make the reservation...
however, if the price is an issue, you can find cheaper cruises on other cruise lines..

go to the cruise line board (here on the Dis) and post a question about whether the deposit is refunded or not (if cancelled up to 2 months before the cruise)..

I think thats an excellent price for the category you have booked :thumbsup2

Happy cruising!:)

Good price for a cat 6. We priced up loads before we booked for 2 ad and a child and 3 adults and a child and the cheapest i got was £1067 for the 3 night for 4 of us in an inside cabin cat 10a. After several weeks of looking they were offering the 4 night on the 13 th nov in a 9 gty for £1266 so we booked tht. So for two of u in tht cat i think its quit good. :thumbsup2

Have to agree with most of the above posters.....That price for 2 of you in a Cat6 with Verandah is a very reasonable price. I say TAKE it! :)
