Is this a good deal, can I do better?

So we have the opportunity to go on a semi-last minute trip to Florida. We decided that we would add a trip to Disney/Universal. We are 3 people my husband and I and our 2 year old. I am a Florida native and have only been away from home these last 3 years so I know the heat and all that is rough as are the crowds etc but we don't get to go down there much so we want to take advantage of the time.

We are planning to be in the Orlando area from 7/29-8/03/15

Through a travel discount with my husbands union we have been quoted a package that includes

6 nights at Maingate Resort and Spa
4 day base ticket to Disney + 1 free day (so 5 day base ticket)
2 day base ticket to Universal + 1 free day (so 3 day base ticket)

= $1240.00 with taxes and fees included.

I've looked around and this seems like a good deal but I thought I'd get the opinions of some more experienced travlers.

With the tickets included in that price, yes that is a very good deal. I have never stayed at that particular hotel, but only because I like timeshare condos. Enjoy your time back home.

Yes, your tickets value alone for the two adults is close to what your overall price is sitting at, so it seems you are getting the resort for almost nothing in this scenario. I would just beware of any need for long timeshare presentations if that is part of the bargain.
