Hi we are looking to get back out to orlando at the end of september for 2 weeks for my daughters 3rd birthday.
Anyhow this time we would like to have a villa for something diffrent after already doing other options.
I have been pricing this up for a little while now and the best offer i have found is just under 2400 for direct flights with thomson flying from east mids,(40mins away from where i live) staying in southern dunes villa???
Does this seem a decent price for the 3 off us, indirect we dont want to do as summer is a little too young for all the messing about and has anyone stayed at southern dunes before to tell us what they think off the place.
Thank you.

For flights and villa that's a decent price. I know where Southern Dunes is but have never stayed there.
As the name implies it is southerly located Orlando wise, to be honest it wouldn't be my ideal choice, based solely on the location.

Yeah that was my concern, its about an extra £70 to stay in the silver villas and thats allocation on arrival, could be davenport, haines or anywhere round their really.
With me being the driver i suppose i will have to get on with it, or would you suggest paying the extra for a silver villa?

The problem when you book this kind of package is you have little control over where you stay.
All our villa stays have been in Kissimmee, the likes of Davenport are further away from the attractions, which once or twice is not an inconvenience but for regalar trips can become a bit tiresome.

You have to strike the balance between a decent deal/package and booking your own accomodation seperatley. Being able to choose your own villa is a preferable option, you just take a chance a little when it's allocated for you.

A quick look at their website and it is quite far away from WDW on the map, tho seems a straight forward drive up I4

However the scale of that map suggests it's much further away than it looks :)

Just had a look on Thomson website, what is the price for staying at Cumbrian Lakes (instead of Southern Dunes)?
We have stayed at CL before and are doing so again this August, it's a nice, gated community down Poinciana Boulevard in Kissimmee.
A relatively short drive to the 192 junction where there are restaurants, supermarkets and you have straight forward access to WDW and the I4.

Is that a consideration? Cumbrian Lakes is lovely.

I quite like 192, we stayed there on our first (adult) trip a few years back in the Radisson opposite celebration. Lots of good choice of restaurants, easy access to most places (you don't even have to go on I4 to get to WDW, and I hate driving on I4 :lmao:) :)

Cumbrian lakes doesnt seem to come up as an option for some reason. highlands reserve is £200 more expensive.
It seems southern dunes is 20mins to disney 30 to universal does that seem about right?
Flights only coming out at 1800, may look into a villa somewhere else and book seperatly.

hmm maybe it's the dates, I just put in a random date and Cumbrian Lakes came up as an option.
I would say slightly longer to Disney but minimum 25 minutes or so for both.

Yeah i can see your point, will be a bit painfull the constant driving around on a longish distance. I will see what i can find by booking villa seperatly to the package.
Thanks for all your help.
