Is this a faux pas?

I haven't had much experience with hotel stays, and was looking for some input.

We're planning to visit DL for 3 days next year. We would love to stay at the HoJo or somewhere else within walking distance. So, if we get there super early on our first day, can we check in at the hotel and park in their parking lot for the day? And then on check-out day, do you think we can still leave our car in their parking lot for the whole day, even after checking out?

We would love to not have to pay for Disney parking, but don't want to do anything wrong. Any advice is appreciated!

Ask the hotel, the couple of times we stayed just outside, they let us have the extra half day on either end for free. It may depend on the season. Last November was no problem, lot was half full.

For the HOJO, this should be fine. I have done exactly what you said when I've stayed there. HOJO's has a large parking lot and they are more liberal with their parking allowances.

Other hotels are not so helpful. I know at the Desert Inn and Suites I could only park after check-in time and had to leave after check out. They have very limited parking.

Check with motel when you book. They are all different.

This is why I was asking. I stayed at a motel near DL a few years ago and we practically had to park on the street when we came back for the night! every space was full. I really want to stay at Hojo so hopefully it won't be a problem, but I'll make sure to ask.

Just echoing what the others said - it is property specific. I will be staying at the Camelot and called to ask, since I want to arrive early that morning and stay late after check-out, and they said that as long as there are available spots, it shouldn't be a problem, just to make sure I tell them at the front desk. The Clarion said the same when I stayed there, but they charged a daily parking fee, so I was paying for that spot.

Oh yes, hojo is GREAT about that! Don't just want to stay there, stay there! :)

I would highly recommend saving a few extra bucks for tips, b/c it's just not safe to leave luggage in the car in *any* parking lot (I'm not warning you about hojo, or the area, but it's just never a good idea, anywhere), so I would bring the luggage to the bell people, where they will lock it away for you, both on checkin and checkout days. That way you can play on those days without worrying at all that you'll be robbed. :)

If you are staying at HoJO, you can leave your car there after you check out. They will tell you that you can do that.

HoJo has a giant parking lot.

Park Vue allowed me to leave my car in their lot the whole day I checked out, didn't try it the day I checked in.

Desert Suites are super strict!! Out at check out.

We always arive early and at the Parkvue inn they let you leave your car before check in and let you keep your car in their lot after you check out for the entire day.
