Is this a dumb idea?

I've gotten so caught in the weekly freebies that I've started a box where I'm throwing any shampoo samples, toothpaste samples, etc. and thought I would use that when I pack for our Disney trip in December.

I usually spend around $50 on toiletries to go down there and thought this might be a way to save some $$.

Do you think this is doable and has anyone else done this?

Not a dumb idea at all. :goodvibes I try and do that on every trip. Less to pack in your suitcase on the way home - more room for souvies!! :woohoo:

That's largely what I do on smaller trips. For weekend getaways, I just put all my freebies in my bag and go.

For a longer stay, more than a week, I either pack larger bottles to share or I even bring my coupons and do a quick run to a pharmacy or Target to pick up my toiletries there. Its hard to get all that stuff under 50 pounds between shampoo, conditioner, hair products, sunblock, etc...

I do this! I can't even remember the last time I bought a travel sized toothpaste or deodorant. It's a great way to save money!

Do what you want! You don't need our permission.

I usually make due with what they provide except for hair conditioner, toothpaste and hairspray. So I really don't have to take anything special besides what I have.

If you have extras, maybe donate it to a homeless or woman's shelter. They always need stuff like that.

I like my own shampoo, so I keep refilling hotel bottles with my brand. :) I don't often stay at hotels that offer soap and such, so I always bring my own anyway.

Is there a link to great travel freebies? I love travel shampoos and conditoners. The toothpaste is lovely too.

Thats what I do.

I do have a shampoo and conditioner bottle (attached) that I refill as I'm gone for 2 weeks and the little samples are a bit of a pain for that long.

I do bring my regular deoderant as I don't want to try something else out while I'm away.

My toothpaste has to be one kind as I don't like mint so I use my tube until there isn't much left and then put it in my travel bag.

This is what I am doing too. I sent for stuff for me and my dd gets it for me too. This way I have plenty for my trip. Hopefully I won't have to buy too much with all the freebies!

We always travel with mini-size items as we only take carryon luggage for our trips. I did have an abundance of trial sized items so I sold a bunch at my tag sale this summer.
