k guys, im new to all this disney travelling with family! the last time we went 4 yrs ago it was just hubby and i. were looking at going the 29th of september to the 5th of october(that may still change!). for us all to get to disney, have our park hopper passes, free dining, and onsite was 3825. it seems like a good price to me, as i cant find anything cheaper online at all- if anything its more expensive. does this seem like a reasonable price? oh its for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 2 and 4. thanks guys!

I just ran it on the disney site and it is $1749.80 US for the 4 of you at all-star with park hopper and waterpark and free dining now factor in the air, I am assuming your price had air. Sometimes you can get a seat sale for air. Where r u flying from?

well we eliminated the water parks cus a its kinda chilly then and b our dd has depth perception issues and figure its not worth our time.

yes that did include air. were flying out of halifax. ive hit all the sites and everything is coming up more expensive than brianne quoted. plus what she quoted included the tax.

I've priced out the free dining promo for myself with a 1 day park ticket for 2 adults and 1 child, preferred room at a value resort and it's $1119US for Sept 29 -Oct4.

You can get the park tickets at the Disney Store now for CAD, almost, at par.

What about flying from a US city? The fares are much less. It's usually worth while even if the drive is a few hours. We can get airfare from Buffalo for $509US. the best I've found from Toronto at that time is about $1600CAD.

leaving form a us city is a great idea- however were hours away from one. wed have to travel to nb with the two kids, spend a nite, then drive into maine or go up through quebec and down. not convienent really. if it was just hubby and i no prob.

If going to a US city is not an option then you have to just pay the insane Canadian airfares.

I'm guessing that from Halifax you will need to pay about $500 each.

i think it was a little higher. 550ish. total for airfare came to 23something. oh well atleast the dinign is free for the week were going!

Amber, we are neighbours--Hammonds Plains here.:wave2:

Westjet and Air Canada both recently had discounts on, and I checked them out. It was roughly 2k (maybe $2200?) for 4 of us from Halifax, plus about $1500 US for a similar package to you're talking about...a week at Pop for 4, with free dining and basic park tickets. (My ds will need 10yo tickets this time, but we're not getting hoppers.) So that's pretty much what your TA said.

You've probably got a decent price. I just hate to pay air from Hfx, as others have said. We have flown through the US twice now (and drove to Boston once in addition). Last time it took us 14 hrs to Manchester NH, where we got return tickets for 4 on Southwest for just under $500 US (for all 4, taxes in)--even with some road food and a night in a hotel, it saved us major cash. 14 hours is longer than most would take I think--I do think we've done it in 10. That time we stopped a couple of times for food, took a slight detour to dh's sister in Oromocto...(And that was January, but the roads were very good.) Lots of people go through Bangor or Portland ME, which takes a couple of hours off; probably not quite as cheap as Manchester, but still, I'd estimate you'd pay 1/2 or less of the Cdn fare. We bought a portable dvd player for the kids, I pack snacks, and heck, they're going to FLORIDA, so they'd better no complain too much. ;) The first time they did the drive they were 2 and 4. Dh and I LOVE road trips, though; if I don't let dh drive getting there, I'll have to spend the vacation putting up with him finding places to explore by car! :drive: Some people just don't do road trips, and that's up to your family, of course.

We are hoping to go in September also, and I may use my airmiles to do it if I can, b/c I know the drive adds 2-3 days to the trip overall, which is fine when you've got lots of time off. (But it still kills me to pay $800 in fees for my "free" tickets when I can do better than that from Manchester!!)

You're going to have a great time! The kids will just be bowled over. A little jealous that you get to have that first experience with them. I remember our first trip with our two very fondly. :lovestruc

hey! yeah the airfare its nasty! oh we dont mind the raod trips really! last year we packed em up and drove from here all the way to pa to go to sesame place in a pontiac wave nonetheless! spent one nite in nb, two in south portland, hooked up with a girl scout leader there and she helped us manipulate the maps so we didnt haeve to go through manhatten as google spitted out at us. so we travelld 7 states in one day. and yes we got the portable at fs last year- i got a steal on that! im just trying to work the vacay around our anny which is the 16th of october so that when hubby gets back he can take that week off too( hes in the military and supposed to be away that weekend). so if we take off sooner to drive to the states he has to go back sooner. plus i dont feel compfortable driving in the states at all!

yeah i know i have no where near close to enough air miles! my balance just arrived and it was perhaps 345? i think i can get to bedford on that!

i cant wait! our four year old is all about ariel and the princesses and our two year old- well he knows how to say mickey! lol altho hes more into sesame street now(go figure!)

Hey Amberg@eastlink just a little note, I noticed earlier in your post you said you didn't take the water park tickets because it's kind of chilly, I wanted to be sure you knew this time of the year in Disney it's HOT HOT HOT !!! Wanted to let you know so you know what clothes to pack!! No need for pants and sweaters!! Keep cool, and enjoy your trip!!:thumbsup2

great thanks for the tip! thats not the only reason tho. dd wears an eye patch and has diffiicutlies with depth perception. when we traveled to sesame palce last year(which is mostly a water park) she woudnt even brave the kiddie pool.

im sure ill throw in atleast one pair of jeans and a hoodie for all, when we went in february in 05 we froze our butts off!

I agree we were there last September and I have never felt heat and humidity like that before.

Amber's kids are little, also, and if they're staying at Pop, the pool and fountain play area will probably keep them busy. My kids are older, and still totally delighted with just about any hotel pool! Good to know Sept is also hot though...our first trip was May going in to June...would that be comparable do you all think? It was HOT and we had to take room breaks just to cool off...

The first time we went was in May and yes it was hot but I found September hotter and more humid. That is my experience, maybe others may say different, we have only been twice.

Hi Amber,

We were there in September 2 years ago ...... it was in the 30's every day and mid 20's every evening........ are you looking at MNSSHP as well?

We have actually thought about flying from Bangor in the future. Amber, for reference sake.... I just looked up pricing and Bangor to MCO in Orlando is 800.00 US for the days you have mentioned. The drive is 7.5 hrs to Bangor from Halifax by mapquest which is pretty accurate. When you add in the drive, overnight in hotel each way( 200.00 max), parking (70.00 or free depending on hotel) and gas (120.00), It would end up at about 1200.00 US with 20% exchange it would be about $150.00 Cdn. I have seen better pricing but that is pretty good.

hi guys! thanks for all your help- now im worried we'll sweat to death when we go! lol

hi daver- no were not looking at the halloween party. i dont see the point since mine are 4 adn 2 and asdie from what ive read on here and i think after a day in the park come time for the party theyll be totoally wiped! as will mom and dad!
