Is there room for an air mattress at BLT?

I realize the 2 bedrooms at BLT should fit 9 people. However, we have a group of 4, perhaps 6 at the most, and I am having great difficulty making it work. Sharing beds is iffy since these are not all relatives or really "close" friends. In addition, I am not a fan of having people sleeping out in the common area. Having said that, I was wondering if anyone had any experience:

1.) Moving the sleeper chair into the master bedroom (Will it fit?).
2.) Bringing an air mattress to put on the floor in the master bedrrom or studio portion of the room. The room is dedicated so there are already 2 beds (not a bed and a sofa) in the studio side.

I am thinking about purchasing a twin size air mattress, if it would fit in one of the bedrooms. I would hate to lug it down and find out it doesn't fit. It might help if I could count on being able to move the sleeper chair into the master bedroom for a little privacy.

Thanks!

We just toured a 2BR lockoff in late Apr so I can't comment on the dedicated but there isn't any room for the sleeper chair in the Master bedroom and not really for an air mattress either. If the air mattress did fit you would not be able to walk around the bed. Sleeper chairs are also extremely heavy and you'd be removing seating from the common area if you did manage to fit it into the 2nd BR. The hall twisted and turned a bit in the unit we were in and I personally wouldn't even consider moving it.

I'd plan on trying the airbed and if that doesn't fit then just have a person sleep in the living room.

PLEASE don't do this. The chair is VERY heavy and pushing it through the door is impossible without doing some damage or scraping to something along the way. In any case, I don't think there's space to unfold it in either bedroom.

There would be space to use an air mattress in either bedroom, though as Kat said, you wouldn't be able to walk around the bed/beds in either case.

if you won't have someone sleep in the shared areas - you are not only closing the chair bed - but also the queen sleeper sofa.

the bed in the master is a king - with a dedicated you should have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom.

there is space between the 2nd bedroom and the living area for a twin bed - but again it is in the living area.

if you are cutting that off - better tell your guests that they will have to share or only invite 2 others. for the two queen beds.

jmho, everyone benefits from privacy at the end of a Disney day so I'd go with 2 or 3 studios depending upon how many your party ultimately totals (the points will come close to what you'd need to get a 2 bedroom villa & even if it ends up meaning more points, I'd do that). Also, in the event guests drop out of the trip you may find you don't need 2 bedroom villa, just cancel a studio if total guest count decreases.

:)

Good point. I never even thought about how heavy it could be. Thinking back to ou last stay at BLT, I recall the chair did not seem that big size-wise but did not think about the sleeper mechanism that would be inside it.

We just got back from BLT in a one bedroom. We put a twin air mattress in the master bedroom between the bed and the balcony. We just put it down when we were ready for bed and stood it up out of the way beside the desk during the day. It's tight, but doable. You can't really access the door to the balcony while the airbed is on the floor, but you can always use the door in the living room.

Great news. Do you mind if I ask what size air mattress you used? I am thinking about purchasing a twin.

It would be my guess that an air mattress wouldn't fit very well in the second bedroom.

And I'll second the "don't move the sleeper chair". If DVC intended for it to be in the master bedroom, they would have put it there.

I can't answer about BLT but we used a twin mattres at SSR between the Master bed and the balcolony window (BLT is set up differently, but it didn't seem to me that the Master was much smaller).

I just wanted to say I LOVE the twin air matress we bought at Walmart to take down with us to Disney. Below is a link at Walmart. We bought it in the store for the same price listed on the website. It is the Mainstays brand, plugs in and blows up in about 30 seconds. Turn a knob and it deflates just a quickly. Has a little nylon carrying case that we put it in and a set of sheets. Throw that in a stronger duffle bad and it weighs around 15 pounds total. Just check it at the airport and we are good to go.

We do it because we have a boy and a girl and they won't share a bed. Best 50 bucks I have spent for a Disney trip. And since we own DVC we will be using it alot.

Oh, and our nephew slept on it and he is 6.2 and 190 pounds. So now worries on it being too small.

Hope this helps

Thank you. I am going to check it out.

Your Welcome! Also wanted to say that it is elevated so it doesn't feel like it is down on the floor. Have a great trip!

Though I have not been to BLT. We used a full size air mattress at SSR 2 bedroom and it fit perfectly in the master bedroom!

I think you might be confused. Dedicated is different from lockoff. Both the dedicated (can only be a two bedroom villa) and the lockoff (could be a two bedroom or a studio and one bedroom) have the sleeper chair at BLT. It would be in the living room of the one bedroom portion of a lockoff. You probably could find a space for the air mattress as well, but it might be awkward.
