Is there really a "good park" on Saturday?

There is debate whether MK is too crowded on Saturdays. Anyhow, is any park really not crowded on a Saturday? :)

I had 3 days to pick to go to MK due to spectro showing 3 days I'm there. Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. On Tuesday I wanted to go to AK and do their evening EMH. On Friday is MK morning EMH and I'm not a morning person. That left me Saturday :)

Go to MK in the morning on tuesday and hit AK in the afternoon and stay for the EMH.

Due to its size, Epcot handles crowds better than the other parks. It will be our Saturday park this June. I'm sure it will still be crowded, but hopefully not the gridlock so often mentioned at MK.

Thanks for posting this question, marriedmarylander!

I, too, would like to have feedback on people's opinion of the best park to visit on a Saturday, but for a different reason.

We will be going to Florida for a short 4-day trip (I know it's not long enough, but it was either go for 4 days or not go at all, and after spending several months posting and reading Disboards, I NEED to go!) and since DH is insisting on going to Sea World on one day, we will only have 2 or 2-and-a-half days at the most to do WDW ( :sad2: ). One of those days will be a Saturday. Which park to choose for Sat?

Jalva22, I was leaning toward going to Epcot on Saturday, also.

(You must have posted while I was still struggling with my old slow computer!)

I guess MK is sort of out of the question for Saturdays?

My 2 days at WDW will be either a Thurs and Sat, or Fri and Sat.

Anyone else have feedback?

We have gone many different times of year and many times. We have always found that AK and Epcot tend to have their lightest days of the week on Sat and Sun. Many assume that weekends would be larger because of the potential of local residents going; local residents generally go at light crowd times of year and their addition to the crowds on weekends is hardly noticeable except at MK; what instead occurs is that Sat and Sun are the biggest travel days of the week for people coming to and leaving WDW and the majority of those do not hit a park on the day they are traveling. Note that "light" is relative to the time period you are there -- if it is a heavy crowd time of year, it will still be quite crowded at those two parks on weekends, but somewhat lighter than other days of the week.

I'd say that due to Epcot's size, it would absorb crowds a lot easier than other parks. But as drusba said, time of year and all, everything is subjective.

I've decided that we're doing Epcot on our Saturday (May 14th).

That's our arrival day, and we plan on going to Epcot too! We usually do AK on Sunday -- it's been our experience that AK is generally less crowded on Sundays.

Cool! See ya there!

Someone told me once

"MK is always going to be more crowded and full of kids than the other parks"

:earseek:

I can see this being true. I've read many posts on the board from people who say "we only have limited time, we have to skip a park so which one" and everyone says skip MGM or AK so obviously more people go to MK and Epcot!

I think the fact that we are two adults and only about handful of the rides are on our list, if it's too unbearable we will just wait or move on to the next one. If it's too long of a line we might just skip the ride depending on how we feel. We mainly want to enjoy the scenery and watch the night shows (Spectro, Wishes).

I am starting to think since each "report" is different, you just have to pick a day and stick with it.

I've seen conflicting info. on Thursdays, but that is going to be our main MK day. We will be in parks from Tues-Sun, June 7-12. Our plan is to spend some time at MK on Tues, then do AK on Wed. Thur is MK, Fri MGM and Sat Epcot. Sun will be MK again or whatever we most want to revisit. We will be at the Poly, so honestly our real MK plan is to swing over a couple of evenings on the monorail and just take the park in short bursts. Even on our main MK day I plan to be there from opening until around noon, then go back in early evening. If you have 6 days or more, there's no reason in the world to fight through any afternoon at the MK (well, one reason, if the afternoon parade's on your to-do list).
