I have only stayed at the YC conceirge. We were very pleased.
I am thinking of staying conceirge @ the Poly. Are some conceirge services better than others? I would think they are all pretty much the same. For those of you lucky enough to have stayed at various conceirge resorts please let me in on your thoughts. Thank you, Diane

I've only stayed concierge at the Poly and the GF RPC (YC was closed during our last visit, or I would have tried it!!) I definately preferred the Poly to the GF. I thought the food offereings were the BEST, the lounge location couldn't be beat, and a view of MK to die for. The GF was GREAT and staying in the Main building a dream, but the concierge was a bit stuffy for my tastes. I'm not a stuffy person and I want to feel relaxed. You'll enjoy an stay at the Poly concierge!!

I would also like to know this. We are planning a 2004 trip and want to do AKL conierge. I was also thinking maybe to split between YC concierge and AKL concierge.

We've done the Polynesian and AKL concierge. The AKL called us right away and asked a few questions and wanted to know if there was anything we needed. We also got our info pack in the mail. The first time we stayed at the Polynesian we got our info pack about 90 days out and we did get a call concerning tee times. All of the other stays at the Polynesian I have emailed them with all of our requests and PS's. The AKL had much more to offer in terms of food. We enjoy them both very much for different reasons, but alot of that has to do with the resort itself.

Oh I'd definitely say that there's a difference in the levels of service amongst the concierges. My own favorite is the GF. And .. I hate to say this! LOL but .. Poly concierge was *not* my favorite .. I will say that the food selection was pretty good, but the concierge cm's there left me less than thrilled. I thought the YC was very good, and the same goes for the BWI.

I have stayed concierge at GF, Poly, YC, BWI, and AKL. I'm attempting to try everyone of them in the next few years :)

Here are my feelings on each.

GF--you couldn't pay me to use their concierge srevices again. They never contacted us in advance. They acted like we were beneath them while we were there. It was jsut a really bad all around experience. We've stayed at the GF non-concierge, and while the stay was very nice, and the resort is gorgeous, IMHO it's simply not worth the money.

Poly--WOW! ThHey contacted us in advance, made all the reservations we needed, were very pleasant, loved the lounge, especially the bottled water. This was a very good experience.

YC--I had tried to get for several years, and it was always booked. Their pre-planning office started off great, but then fell flat, I e-mailed to make a change, and they never made teh change or contacted me about it. (I hit "reply" to the email they had sent, so I know I didn't have a bad address.) The concierge staff ranged from cool to friendly, but the inconsistancy drove me nuts. The lounge was too stiff and formal. It wasn't a bad experience, but far from teh best.

BWI--Lovely! The lounge was more formal than the Poly or AKL, but not as "stiff" as YC. They went out of their way to accomodate. Very intimate B&B feel to this one.

AKL. What can I say? We love this place. The staff is top notch. The lounge is gorgeous. The entire resort evelopes you. The food was great, and an expresso machine in the lounge! They were the best about not only making PS's for us, but changing them and working with us when we couldn't get what we wanted because restaurants had closed. I'm going back in March, for my birthday, and can't wait!!

Planning on trying BC, CR, and WL sooner or later.

Anne
