Is there much to do there with an 18 month old? I haven't been to Universal in a few years so I can't remember if there will be anything that we can take an 18 month old on. I don't want to waste the money if our little guy cant go on anything. Any help would be great. Thanks

I don't think you'd find that much to do with that age. We took ours once at nursery school age and then not again until a couple of years ago when they reached 9 & 12.

even if the little guy can't ride much, he's free to get in. then you can use child swap on the attractions you want to ride. he could probably spend a half day in If I Ran the Zoo alone.

I'd love to have my daughter back at that age knowing what I know now about the parks.

The Curious George Play area and the Barney Play area in Universal are great. The If I Ran the Zoo play area in Suess Landing is also great. Then you also have a few rides.

Thanks for the info, I guess I will have to try and decide if it will be worth while going. We still have 2 days on our tickets from a few years ago and thats why I questioned about going with the little guy.

It depends on what you are looking to get out of your trip.

We just returned from a wonderful visit with our two sons. The oldest is 5 y/o and the youngest is not quite 2 y/o. The younger one is tall for his age and was *just* tall enough to ride some of the rides (Cat in the Hat, High in the Sky Trolley, One Fish Two Fish)... but they are the kind of rides where your child has to be willing to sit BESIDE you in a seat. There are almost no lap-sit rides at either US or IOA. The Barney show and Barney's Backyard Playground are fabulous. They are aimed exclusively at the very young. That particular playground is the best one I've seen at any theme park. The Curious George play area is almost entirely water-based fun. If you want to play there with your little one, be prepared with swim gear and sunscreen for everyone. The If I Ran The Zoo playground has both a dry play area and a water play area.

If you are looking to share rides with your child, I'd wait another year or two. If you are looking to ride some fun stuff yourself and child swap, at 18 months the little one probably isn't going to care. That's a "I'm not sure why we're doing this, but if Mommy & Daddy are here it must be okay" age.

Feel free to page through my trip report and see if it helps. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1473969

We were only at the parks for a few hours each day because our little guys just aren't ready for a full day of commando-style touring yet.

I have to say that there would be plenty for your little one to do. There is also alot that he can't do, but they have child swap areas. As posted before, each park has areas that he would have hours of fun in.
