I know I have seen this topic before but does anyone know if they are indeed going to have a Toy Story Character Breakfast?

My kids would LOVE it.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I spoke to a CM a couple of days ago and she said there WERE RUMORS that there is a Buzz Lightyear breakfast in the works. She also said that these types of rumors were generally very reliable. She said she wasn't sure which restaurant would host the meal or when they would start taking PS. The CMs get this information a couple of days in advance so she suggested that I call back several times before our trip just to check. Toy Story is our whole family's favorite, so I've got my fingers crossed!!

My son loves Buzz and Woody, and we have a trip coming up in a few weeks. It would be great if this rumor turned into reality!

Seeing H and V have canceled their character meals. Maybe!

I remember years ago The Soundstage Studios had a character breakfast with the Aladdin Characters.

this info has circulated before, hopefully wdw sees the 'need' to put it into action! both my kids would just love a ts meal!

familytravelplanner-when is your trip? the cm sounded pretty encouraging for those of us wanting a new character meal. we don't go again til november, any hope that something may come up by then?

tia, lisa

Yes, please let us know when you heard the rumor for. Our trip is in May. DD would love this as she is a Toy Story Fanatic. Would make me feel better about not getting CRT for breakfast!!

This is the same rumor that was circulating last year when they opened the Storybook Princess breakfast. From what I understand the hold up has to do with the fact that the characters from Toy Story are owned by not just Disney, but Pixar too... so in order to use them in certain ways they have to have the permission from both film companies.

Although I am heartbroken that Minnie and Goofy will not be at Hollywood and Vine, I guess they could have left H&V to make room for this particular breakfast. I would go, only if they serve lunch, too (not a breakfast person)... but my heart still belongs to Hollywood Minnie and Goofy!

Adding my vote in favor of a Toy Story Character meal. Buzz is my 2 yo daughter's FAVORITE!!! Instead of Princess jammies and Princess shirts, when we went in december we bought her Buzz jammies and shirts, because those are the ones she picked out! LOL

When I called for some other PS reservations last week I asked this very question to the CM who took my information. He said he knew NOTHING about a Toy Story breakfast, and he assured me that he'd know if anything was in the works. Take that with a grain of salt, however. He didn't seem to be the sharpest knife in the drawer, in my opinion!

Our trip is scheduled for the last week in May. The CM I spoke to was abviously a seasoned veteran. She spent at least 15 minutes telling me things about WDW (this is our first trip) - tips and information, what her kids liked to do - her favorite this and that. She really knew her stuff. Here's hoping!

The problem with the Toy Story characters is that the costumes are so bulky and not easy to get around in. One of the wonderful perks of any character meal is the ease at which the characters flow from table to table.
Even with photo ops containing Buzz, Woody, Jesse, etc. kids are led to them while their characters stay in once place.

What they could do is something they did with Pocahontas and John Smith years ago at the Soundstage, they had the secondary characters floating among the tables and then you could go upstairs to have your picture taken with P and JS where they were posed.

The breakfasts at the old soundstage (now that blue bear show) were wonderful.....I remember Aladdin's....and later came Esmerelda's. Great times !!

I remember sitting up at the Catwalk lounge area watching the fun character interactions below!:)

A Toy Story character meal is such a great idea!! My son love Toy Story! I agree the problems with their costumes is probably the issue. When I saw them in MGM they took my book and stamped it instead of signing it. It must hard to manuver their bodies.

I talked to a CM last night. He was very knowledgeable and said that he'd heard that rumor too. He said that the problem isn't should they it's can they with the bulky costume that's difficult to manuever in. He also made the comment that the imagineers are working on that problem. Hopefully they'll replace H&V with a Toy Story! That'd be great!!! I could just see Woody and Buzz and the Sgt. and the little green army guys!!!!! Very cool idea! I hope they do it!

With them closing Minnie and Frieds at H & V.........
a Toy Story character meal would make sense at MGM.

I had PS for H & V for April and the CM that I talked to said they would be calling me. And she felt very strongly that they would be replacing the H & V with another character meal!!

Wait and see.

Buzz could always stand in the front, like Minnie did and be the host... then Jessie, Woody, and the Green Army Men could circulate!

I hope they do find a way to do this!

Every good character meal SHOULD have a villian!!!
I wouldn't mind a Captain Hook & Peter Pan meal either...:bounce:

there's also talk that the Diamond Horseshoe Revue, the show that recently ended at the MK, will be replaced with a musical show featuring the Toy Story characters. A Toy Story breakfast may end up being Toy Story overkill. It's my personal belief that because of this, and because of the fact that the TS characters can't walk around easily or sign autographs because of their costumes (except for maybe the Green Army Men), that a breakfast is doubtful.

However, Disney usually takes advantage of the opportunity to start something that would make money for them. A Toy Story breakfast sounds like it would be wildly popular.

I agree that Zurg should be present! Jessie, too, for girl appeal.
