Is there anywhere to rent a car in DisneyWorld?

I am planning my second trip to Disneyworld, my son's first in June of 2011. I would like to make a quick one day side trip to the Kennedy Space Center and possilbly another day trip to Univeral Orlando. I am planning on staying in the All Star Music resort, so I was just hoping to catch the Magical Express to our hotel from MCO, then rent a car for the first two days of our vacation for the side trips to space center and universal, then continue with the Disney parks and take the ME back to the airport. Is there anywhere close in WDW where I can easily and affordably rent a car for a two days? It will be just me and my son traveling and I am trying to make things as easy as possible. I am not familiar with Orlando at all. Any tips on how to make my vacation easier would be helpful. Does anyone know if there are shuttle buses that run from WDW to either the Space Center or Universal Orlando so I wouldn't have to bother with renting a car? Any tips from the pro's would be appreciated

There is.

Alamo has a car rental location at the Disney car care center. They will even come and get you.

National has a rental counter and the Dolphin hotel.

Avis is location at the Hilton hotel across the street from DTD which is a 5 minute walk from DTD.

Dollar has a rental location at the Regal Sun hotel directly across from the DTD market place bus stop.

In addition to Shelly's post, it is worth mentioning that Hertz is at Sahdes of Green (Magic Kingdom area, near the Polynesian and the Golf Courses).

We have rented from Alamo at the Car Care Center and it was great. The rates are not bad and the convenience of location is very nice.

Both National and Alamo are at the Car Care Center and the Dolphin.

Budget is at the Doubletree near Downtown Disney.

We rented from the Alamo at the Dolphin once and it worked out perfectly because we were staying at the Boardwalk. Just a quick walk over, checked in, and off we went.

We rented from Hertz here and they came and picked us up at the resort and dropped us off. Very easy.
