Is there anywhere else you enjoy vacationing besides Disney?

We go to LBI (Beach Haven NJ) alot, and we plan on going to Vegas and Ireland in the future, but in reality, all we really TALK about is DISNEY! Just can't get enough and I will NEVER tire of going there!!!

Without a doubt....Yellowstone Park and Cody, Wy. The natural wonders are awe inspiring. We are making our 3rd trip out there in 2 weeks. IMHO it is the best family vacation spot (next to WDW).

We love the beach! We've had several great vacations to Destin, Florida. We also enjoyed Cocoa Beach and the Space Center. Last year, we had a fabulous vacation in Philadelphia, PA. We had a nice getaway to Gatlinburg in May.

I'm with the above poster....I just LOVE vacation!

We go to the Jersey Shore (wildwood, Cape May) and Niagara Falls, Canada every summer!!

We always go to Cornwall each year :beach: - the south west coast of England. Beatiful beaches and rugged coastlines - we love it.
For those who are thinking of visiting the UK, I would strongly recomend a trip down to Cornwall.

Anyplace that has beautiful blue water, miles of pristine sand, the hot sun and stunning sunsets.:beach: I enjoyed visiting Jamaica, Aruba, Bahamas, Cancun but my absolute favorite is Cabo San Lucas. Trying to convince husband that we need to retire there.:beach:

I love Hawaii. Lived there for a year in college, so it is special. My brother now lives there so I hope to be able to visit.

Florida really is tops for us, but we have plans to someday visit Hershey PA, Williamsburg, VA, well anyplace with a theme park. My dh is not really a beach person so that makes things hard for me and the kids.

We are going on our first cruise and we are pretty sure we are going to like it so more cruises are possibly on the horizon for us too. Since we live in Seattle, an Alaska cruise would be convenient. But I just want to cruise all through the carribbean and the med. Don't want much do I?;)

Another cruise addict here. We love to go anywhere in the Carribean, Mexico (east or west coast), West Indies or South America. We also spend a week at the Jersey Shore (Harvey Cedars) each summer and look forward to that every year.

We went to Lake George, NY this summer and stayed at Canoe Island Lodge. We LOVED it! It is a perfect family vacation spot.

As you can see from my signature-I am a Maine beach (relaxing by the ocean)and WDW(excitement and action) addict! This year I'll be hitting my two favorites together. We'l return from Maine for one day to catch up on the laundry and then Mickey here we come!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

A Mainer here - our beaches are nice aren't they.:thumbsup2 Have fun at Disney!

We just got back from a mini vacay in the White Mountains of New Hampshire - we had a great time. We go every summer. We have a camp on a lake here in Maine (near Bar Harbor) so we spend most of our summertime there. I do want to research the Boston area for a museum/aquarium trip, our friends went to Lake George, NY. They said it was very nice. Also, would like to get to Virgina and D.C. someday when the kids are older and can appreciate it.

Growing up, our beach vacations were Ocean City, MD. Several years ago, DH and I took the kids to the Jersey shore and from now on that is where we'll go.
Other vacations are short trips in the area - Hershey Park, Sesame Place when the kids were younger, Lancaster, PA, and Williamsburg (but, it's been awhile).

This year we're going to Williamsburg (we leave on the 17th). I see a lot of you have mentioned Williamsburg as well. It's been awhile since we've been there - any suggestions on things to do besides Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens? Any restaurants that are good or any restaurants that are bad?????? Breakfast will be at the hotel - Fairfield Inn.

Florida's Emerald Coast gets my vote. Sugar white sand and emerald green gulf water, mmmm..

We haven't really been anywhere yet that we like better than WDW, but I'd love to see much of Europe, esp. Germany and the UK, where many of my ancestors are from. I also really, really, want to visit the northeastern part of the US.

We do really like a small area in southern Indiana. Nashville, Indiana is in Brown County and what they call an artist's colony. There's much history there and many artists settled here years and years ago. It's just a very nice, cozy place to be.

I grew up 30 minutes from Nashville. It is a cute little town.

We too are addicted to cruises. Have been on several carribbean ones, one west coast one, and next year is New England. Favorite port so far is Victoria British Columbia. I'd like to go back there and spend 2 or 3 days there.

Also want to see Alaska and Hawaii. Starting an evening/weekend job at Target just to fund future trips!

We had a great side trip to Monticello when we did Williamsburg. Monticello is the home of Thomas Jefferson. The tours are guided. It was a fun day. www.monticello.org

In Williamsburg, try the peanut soup at the King's Arms Tavern. It's not a bar. It's a colonial tavern . . . so part of the charm of Williamsburg. I think we got there right as they opened for lunch. I believe they also had fried chicken that was very tasty.

Another helpful hint, the bus from the visitor center drops you at the first stop. Then another bus takes visitors from that point around the loop around the colonial part. It seemed to us that most of the visitors were hopping off the bus from the visitor center and beginning their tour right there. Instead we jumped off where the visitor center bus dropped us, then hopped on the bus that does the loop and went around to the court house stop and began our tour on that end. We think we missed a major part of the crowds that way. Hope that wasn't too confusing.

Have fun!

My Family loves Lake George! We spend a lot of time in Lake George its practicly in our backyard, this time of year is beautiful on the lake, and super busy since its close to Saratoga Springs, and thats the "August place to be"!

Some of you have mentioned central PA so I have to plug my place of employment. I work at Dutch Wonderland Family Amusement Park in Lancaster (marketing and promotions). We were recently featured as the lower cost alternative to.....drumroll please.....the Magic Kingdom! :cool1:

Honest, swear to the mouse himself! Check out the article on AOL Travel.

Definitely agree with Kristielee...love Yellowstone and lots of other national parks out West like Glacier. Also, love the Moab, UT area.

We  OBX. We are not going there this year becasue of Disney. I love Disney best...but I must admit I am missing my beach week!
