Is there anyway to know what time the park will REALLY open?

I was reading in the unofficial guide and they said that sometimes the parks open earlier than what is posted. Is there anyway to know if they will open earlier? We are going next week and I'm wondering if we should show up even earlier in hopes of getting in earlier.

I would say that the park opening time is just that, unless it is EMH.

angelhair, the first time I took my granddaughter, then 6yo, it was over spring break week. I'd read the UG too, and was at Magic Kingdom by like 7:15am!lol I thought they'd open the park early for sure for spring break week before easter and all. Nope. We we the very first two in line; nobody else was there.lol But, something good did come of it. We were picked to open the park that day! It was awsome! After that my granddaughter thought she should get to do it every time we went. We've been many times since then and I've never seen the park open before it's scheduled to. Just get that extra sleep (you'll need it) and arrive about 30 minutes or so before opening.

Thanks for the info. That would be very cool though to open the park. How very lucky for her. Maybe when my son is older we will aim to be the first ones there.

Depending on crowds waiting and interior preparedness* the turnstiles may open early but they don't let you get to the rides and attractions until the opening hour. For example at MGM Studios guests are often allowed partway up the main street before opening moment but not quite as far as Sunset Blvd.
