I booked the FTP on Saturday BEGGING for CBR but all she could offer me was POR or CS. Since we've never been to POR, booked there. This morning I tried online to get our specific dates at CBR and it was available!!! I realize there may be limited number of FTP rooms, but hey, we've been 7 times (Wonder Cruise last summer, too!) and thought maybe they could get me a room where I wanted!!

Since I called the WDW 407-DISNEY line to book, first of all can I change resorts and secondly will they charge me extra $$$ for what I wanted in the first place????

Help!!

Unfortunately, if they told you CBR was booked up, it didn't mean that there were no rooms available, just that the FTP was sold out for your dates. I guess you could make a call on the offchance someone may have cancelled- some kind CM might take pity on you- it never hurts to ask.

I would keep calling to check. The worst they can tell you is no, right? You may get lucky!!! I hope it works out for you.

When CRO says that there is no FTP availablity at the resort of your choice, it unfortunately means that although there may be vacant rooms at the resort, there are none available for the FTP price. :(

But, you do have an option. People cancel or change their reservations all the time. I myself cancelled my CBR ressie in favor of one at AKL just yesterday. I spent a considerable amount of time trying to get a ressie at a Florida Resident discount at the resort of my choice, only to be told repeatedly that it was unavailable. I knew the resort had rooms available online at rack rate, but I was unwilling to pay that.

So, my advice to you is to tell you that it is not hopeless. Try calling CRO two or three times a day. I heard from someone on this board that CRO flushes out its computer ressie system each night and that the best chances of getting the resort you want is to call in the morning. I don't know if that advice will be accurate all the time, because it seemed everytime I called different deluxe resorts were available -- seemed random to me. But I must add that when I did finally get a deluxe ressie at AKL it happened to be at 7:30 am. :D Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I will keep trying although POR looks like a great resort. PS How do I get a countdown clock for my trip?

This doesn't answer your question, but we've stayed at CBR and POR and we prefer POR. This is a matter of personal preference. We really loved CBR, spent our honeymoon there, however there is something about the atmosphere at POR that we enjoyed more. I would suggest requesting bldg. 14 in the Bayou section. It's closest to the main building and bus stop. So if you can't switch your ressie, I still think you'll have a great time!

Word of caution, I don't know that this is true or not, but I was told that when someone cancels a room that was under a special package or code, that the room actually goes back in the system as a rack rate room and not the special again. You may have to really push a CM to investigate cancelled rooms to see if anyone cancelled a FTP room, then maybe they can give you that one as FTP again. But again, just info, not sure if it is true or not.
