For some unknow reason to me, every year, dh seems to get peeved at decorating, not just for Xmas, I mean for anything Fall, etc.. He insist on keeping all the decorations up in the attic. I have a hard time to get them. I have asked him to put the things in the basement, much easier to get to for me. Every year the same attitude and fight. This year I told him to leave the darn crap in the attic, that it is not worth putting up with his attitude! :sad2: I hope Santa does not bring him one darn thing, not even coal!

Available free to anyone! My so called DH, he is potty trained.. :teeth: I will be happy to ship his butt right over! :goodvibes

Fine Print: Returns are not an option

My grandmother isn't this year. My grandfather always did most of the physical parts of decorating, and he passed away this year. I offered to help, but I think she's just not in the mood. She'll be in Disney on Christmas, which was her excuse. Hopefully being there will make her feel better. I did notice last time I was there that she had a glass candy holder shaped like a Christmas tree out, and she told me she felt like a scrooge when her physical therapist was coming over one day, so she got out some snowman placemats and mugs. That's it, though.

Thank you for the offer of a free hubby but I have a BF that I cant seem to sell myself...He isn't potty trained.... :rotfl2:

As for the decorations, take whatever money you had planned on spending on him for gifts and go buy new stuff. That is if you had planned on buying the grinch anything anyway. :teeth:

I think its time to do some shopping for some new decorations. Then DH would only have to bring them in from the car! ;)

When I met my boyfriend nearly 11 years ago, he really didn't like decorations, and especially for Xmas. He was like "I hate Christmas, I always did!" during 4 years.
I kept decorating as I love to decorate the place where I live. He got used to, and this year, he was the one to ask for the Chritmas decos! (I nearly had a heart attack :rotfl: )
So be patient...

(your dog is so sweet! )

I have to confess, if it were strictly up to me, I probably wouldn't decorate. I might bring in some evergreen boughs / holly branches, etc., to bring a little life into the house, but I don't think I'd do the whole Christmas thing.

Alas, I have the husband that most of you would like to have - he LOVES Christmas - everything about it! He starts downloading Christmas music and screensavers onto his computer in October. He starts dragging out the decorations from storage the week of Thanksgiving. (Except this year, because I threatened him against it) Starting around Thanksgiving each year, he starts begging me nightly to watch "Rudolph" with him.

When I met him ('97) I had a lifetime of hokey, cheap Christmas decorations that I'd built up over the years, but just couldn't bring myself to throw away. Well, he INSISTS on finding a place for every crappy piece of it somewhere in the house, each holiday season. I can't stand clutter. I've had to repeat approximately a million times "Just because there's a clear spot on the table/counter/cabinet, doesn't mean that you need to cram another piece of junk there!"

Oh well. I guess that's why we're so good together. That whole yin/yang thing.

No, not decorating so far, although it is still early...... :confused3

Yes and no.

We wont decorate at home because we leave for Disney in 5 days. We will decorate there though. By the time we come back Christmas will be over and around here once Christmas passes everyone turns off their lights. Where I came from they kept lights going until after New Years. So no real point to decorate after Christmas. :goodvibes
