Is there ANY way to get my money back from an updgraded purchase this morning?

We added a day to our Park Hoppers, had a TERRIBLE day at the park, and on top of that realized that I had miscalculated how many days we needed and, in fact, WEREN'T going to be there another day - but a day LESS! :(

I'm SO bummed. I am just kicking myself - five kids and a nasty day at the parks is NOT the time to try to figure out admission. My stupid mistake, but I'm hoping there is SOME way Disney might reverse our $230 upgrade :(

Any chance of it?

oh man mom of four girls Im sorry to here that but they always point out that they are non refundable...if your going to be there tomorrow you might consider going to city hall and asking but I wouldnt get my hopes up too much...:sad2:

Yes, I don't think there is much you can do besides spread the magic and give the tickets to someone who is buying admission when you leave! That would make me feel a little better about it instead of them going to waste!!

You could make a family of 5's day (or year) that were going to buy some one day tickets!!

Adding my stipulation that DL tickets are non-transferrable before anyone yells at me!

Momof4girls: Are you there now???

Go immediately to guest services and plead your case. Be gentle but firm---after all you made the mistake. But if the first CM won't help you, ask to speak to a supervisor. All they can say is no, and if you're polite hopefully they'll work with you.

If you're at home, it's tougher on the telephone, but I'd give you the same advice.

i agree, the more friendlier you get, the high your chance you will get your money back... just hope the cast member you talk to isnt mad already to start out with.

HOLY PIXIE DUST!!!

First, I love you guys!

Second - we went to Guest Relations in CA yesterday morning. I was SO. BUMMED. about this mistake, DH called and they were closed Sunday night so we had to go in person. (Lucky us!)

The girl at Guest Relations in CA was SUPER sweet (Michelle) and checked to see what she could do. She said we had up until our 5th day to correct it (she acted like it was no big deal - as if they did this all the time - so maybe an "upgrade" is treated differently than buying a pass and wanted to sell back a day or something?)

Anyway - her computer was limited (She said she only had "generic options) but she suggested we go out into the middle ticket windows out of the park. The older gentleman who helped us had a supervisor come over and they refunded THE WHOLE $230!!!    :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

And, in a total moment of random pixie dust, he reprinted our 4 day park hoppers as 4 day hoppers - even though we'd used two days. So we have three days remaining instead of two!!!!!!! :wizard: :wizard:

Our trip is looking up after all :)

Thank you so much for the advice!

I am soooo happy this worked out for you! I hate it when I make a mistake, especially like the one you described, one you make under diress!

Congrats and enjoy your trip!:)

yay, another dream comes true!

i love it when Disney makes their guest happy.

Hooray!!! Did you mean your horrible day was the BB day I read about on your trip report?? It sounded bad but not THAT bad, I hope nothing else terrible happened to make it nasty!!

Not a good way to start out your first trip, hope it gets better from here!!! Yeah for Disney for helping you out, they are awesome!!!

wow arent you the lucky one...Im so glad they did that for you...unfortunately for me, I was stupid and put my ticket in my lanyard plastic pouch and when I got off of Splash it broke off or something and I lost it...no one turned it in...they kept it!:( so I was out of luck and had to pay out another $239 for the AP I was going to upgrade to from my 5 days PH ticket and they wouldnt do anything for me:sad2: I was so miserable and depressed and cried my eyes out but I didnt blame disney...it wasnt their fault...I just hope Im able to go down enough times to pay for it ...sheesh I ended up paying out $418 just to get in that place:headache:

Yes - that was the day. :) It definitely could have been worse, but it was by far the worst Disney experience we've ever had - just shell shock going from WDW in December to DLR in February and having such polar opposite days. BUT - day two was glorious at CA :D
Thanks again for the great advice and kind words, everyone!

DISCLAIMER: I've never actually done this, but I understand the reasoning!!!

I've read you should photocopy your tickets just in case something like this happens. Supposedly if you have the pc, they can cancel the lost ticket, and will replace it.

Mind you, I ain't preaching---I don't do it either! But maybe we all should...:rolleyes1

Momof4girls: I would have been shocked if Disney didn't help you. I'm sorry you were so upset---I would have been, too.

Pixie dust comes in many forms!!!
