Is there any reason why there can't be a sticky at the top for people to talk and ask about codes/discounts??

I just looked through two pages of todays post and there were 15 posts about codes and discounts. I know everyone is looking for them and is excited but 15 posts about the same exact thing is getting excesive.

Please don't flame, I'm just asking a question. Thanks!

Thanks, I understand that. I guess I just get tired of reading the same post over and over and over again. I tend to read and use search before I ask a question just in case there is already a post about that same thing.

I haven't gotten a code yet and am waiting but after reading the 20 other posts about codes I know they won't be out for awhile and there is no way to predict if I'll get a email/postcard.

I agree with you, CinderellasMama...they should put up a whole seperate category dedicated to resort expenses, codes, discounts, etc.

Great idea! Why don't you suggest it to the mod's. Maybe they can do a sub brd like the ones on the community brd.

If you get tired or reading them why not just skip it. You can tell what the thread is going to be about by the title. People just get anxious and excited waiting for the codes and want to share.

Exactly-- If you put your mouse over the question, it will show most of the content-- You don't have to read it if it does not interest you.

I agree, that some questions, comments seem to be repeated, and I'm sure I've been guilty of that too, when a search does not work, but its hardly worth getting upset about, and possibly causing someone to avoid these boards, or become too scared to post their ideas, and comments, ?? etc. Just a thought.

One of the things that I like about DIS Boards is that you can ask any questions, no matter how many times, and someone is always happy to answer. If the post does not appeal to you, just skip it and move on. A sticky at the top would be nice, but I wouldn't want anyone to made to feel like they can't ask a question.

I posted about this a while back. I wasn't tired of reading them, I just wanted it to be easier to find code information. Sometimes, those codes threads get buried. and when you're waiting for a code that will save hundreds of dollars you want to find it fast.

I remember "back in the day" on these message boards when it wasn't allowed to post anything about discount codes! The reason being, the owner of this board, Pete, didn't want to be responsible in the event that someone read about a code here on the boards, and then used it, and then found out at check-in that it was a code that the person was not really entitled to, such as residents-only code, etc.

Actually, I am not sure that he likes anyone to mention the exact code by name, but rather to reference a site like mousesavers. I have seen some specific codes mentioned here, so I am assuming that he has relaxed that rule as well.

I guess as long as people keep in mind that this message board is not ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the info they read here (on the message boards section of the DIS), then it's OK. Afterall, 99% of the info on this board is supplied by us users, and isn't necessarily verified or validated by anyone.
