Hi there,

We went on several Disney Cruises, all booked directly through DCL.

I now see that there are cheaper deals through american travel agencies. ( eg cruise.com )

Is this safe ? Are these good organisations ? How can they be cheaper than Disney ? You know other good TA with great deals for DCL ( for august 2002 )

Or should I better not thrust this ( being in Europe and not in the USA ) and make a reservation through DCL for the beginning of next year.

Any help is welcome !!

Kajo,

Although I certainly love deals, I would never try to book a cruise (or buy ANYTHING relatively expensive) through a source that I did not trust. There are lots of dot com cruise reservation services and I'm sure that most of them are on the up and up but I am not going to take a chance on MY money and MY vacation.

It is much better to go through trusted sources, even if it looks like you are not getting the best deal available.

That said, there ARE some trusted travel agencies that can usually save you money over DCL directly. I am booked through Dreams Unlimited which I have heard (and read on these boards!) so many good things over a long period of time that I trust.

Good luck on whatever you decide.

Usually the price of the cruise (and just the cruise) is pretty standard regardless of which TA you use. You can look around on the internet and see that everyone will have pretty much the same price as DCL. Some may have other incentives, though, like rebates or shipboard credit. It's when you start booking ground transfers and air with Disney that it starts getting higher. It is much cheaper to plan this part on your own.

Kajo...
There are lots of reputable companies that offer discounted prices
for Disney cruises. I've read they are able to do this as they buy rooms by the block. Many have gotten their best prices with the sponsors of our board http://www.dreamsunlimited.com/reservations/cruise-res-main.htm I have also dealt with cruise.com and cruise411 and been very pleased w/their prices and service.
Good luck :D
