Is there an October 2008 Waitlist Tread?

Hey guys,

I just wanted to know because I am officially on the waitlist for Oct 5 & October 9 for BCV. I have all the other nights though. Just wanted to know if anyone else is on the same boat or similar for Epcot Resorts!

I'm waitlisted too! We are booked at AKV but hoping for a 2BDR at BCV for Oct 8, 9 & 10th... sending some your way!

Wow... thanks for the pixie dust... and the fact that the thread resurrected! LOL!

I am waitlisted for a 2BR Lockoff @ BCV for the 5th, 8th & 9th! Well I hope everyone else's comes through too. I am not so concerned for the 8th & 9th because we are willing to move to VWL (our home resort) but I really hope I can get the 5th. I do have a cash ressie for the 5th BUT its a 2BR Dedicated so I would still have to switch but at least not resort.

Needless to say, I am seriously considering selling my VWL contract for a BCV contract unfortunately, simply because we all love to go for Food & Wine staying at BCV.

So I'm guessing chances will be pretty slim to none for us... we are huge F&W fans and go every year, but haven't stayed at BCV yet. I was hoping to at least stay there before we look to do a add on....

Has anyone had their waitlist come through on a BCV 2 BDR in October?

I booked a studio standard view at the BWV Oct 9th - 12th on the first phone call about 1 month ago. Keep trying - every day, sometimes cancellations come through when you least expect it.

I don't think you have to call every day if your on the waitlist. I would assume that once something is available it is automatically given to the first person on the list. But maybe I'm wrong???

It used to be that you could sneak in ahead of the waitlist - the waitlist was (apparently - we here on the DISBoards have an imperfect understanding of actual systems) batch processed at the end of the day. So if DisneyDoll cancelled her BWV Standard View room at 11am and you called at 11:05, you could get the room, even if there was a waitlist.

Apparently (and we have an imperfect view of Disney's systems) that was changed about a year ago. Now DisneyDoll cancels her room and it goes into holding until the waitlist is processed against it - so you can't jump ahead of the waitlist with a well timed call. Or at least, you aren't supposed to be able to.

Need pixiedust for my October Wait List @ BWV. ixiedust:

I have my preferred view studio for the first 4 nights starting Wed, Oct 8th. I can't get a room for Sun, Oct 12th and Mon, Oct 13th. I am on the wait list.

If my wait list doesn't come thru we will be moving to OKW. I managed to get a studio in the Hospitality area. I like that they added this new preference and made it possible to guarantee that you stay close to the pool. OKW is so big.

I pray that my wait list comes thru I hate to move.

Just a little FYI: Oct 10th and 11th is a Friday and Saturday. Oct 12th and 13th is Sunday and Monday.

If your first choice of room type and desired resort is not available when you call, can you wait list your first choice without actually making a back-up reservation?
